floor mats?

I searched but only really found info on second gen stuff.

I need some floor mats, not cheap shitty ones.

What's good?

OEM?

I've heard weather tech or something?

pros and cons of each?

i want proper oem fit, durability, and no sliding.

i've seen the weathertech costs like 100 bucks. What do OEM ones cost with all the retention hardware/hooks? Do I need the same hardware for weather tech?

this might seem stupid, but srsly, school me on floor mats.

I have the WeatherTech. The fronts fit like OEM and the rears are universal ones but seem to fit alright.

You can check them out when I'm at school?

I have OEM carpet mats on my 07 and am satisfied with them. The Fit's floor is unusually shaped due to the gas tank. Universal mats would probably be unsatisfactory. I haven't seen the Weathertech mats, but I have read here that many like them. I have always been pleased with Weathertech window vent shades.

Buy a large rubber bottom area rug and cut to fit! And really google images is what you need. Oem carpet/ all weather or weathertech I believe are the options. Seriously image search gd fit mats.

get some JDM GD floormats in checkerboard pattern

I've had the OEM carpet mats for 4 years. Got them with the car when I purchased. Install was rather simple cut holes in carpet (the carpet is already preforated just need to cut).
Some minor wearing where my heel rest when I'm not on the gas. Does hold onto hair and lint more than I would like. Even when using a normal house vacuum.
Holding up better than my OEM Scion mats that were thicker than OEM Honda.

I have the OEM all weather mats. I had a passenger in the rear seat spill a cup of coffee on them. It never got to the carpet. They stay in place using the supplied hooks. To clean them, I take them out of the car and hose them off.

I bought my car used. It came with the OEM carpet mats. They were nice, but someone had gotten them wet and they smelled really bad. I went with all weather because they don't cost much more. Also, I learned my lesson from buying carpeted OEMs for my wife's 2001 CR-V. Eventually they wear out and Honda quit making them. I wish I had put the all weather mats in the CR-V when I had the chance.

Cheap DIY

The chain store "Tractor Supply" sells very dense rubber foam in 1/4, 3/8, 1/2" thickness used for floor of horse trailers etc (black only).
It is very tough, closed cell so it won't hold water. I bought the 1/4" thick, made a templet, and cut to shape with sissors. It's been in over a year and no wear.
It aint pretty, it just works, no sliding.
About $5.00 a foot for a 3 foot wide roll, cut to length.
Cut a piece for the "trunk" floor too.

I got black carpet OEMs for my used Fit. They look nice enough, but they started to wear very fast.

I have these: 07-08 Honda Fit New Factory Carpet Floor Mat Set *Gray* | eBay

They came with hardware but I didn't use them. Seems to be fine without hardware. There's a little bit of slipping, but I'm okay with that. The mats have lasted well and I wish I'd have gotten them earlier instead of fussing with the cheap $20 mats I initially got at Walmart.

Get the carpeted ones. My Fit came with OEM all weather mats. I don't like the way dirt spreads all around them, much easier than carpeted mats, and gets under them too.

I had OEM all weather but the hooks pulled through the holes on the driver side mat because it slides around when my wife gets in and out of the car.

I've had the weathertech digifit since June and they're nice. Excellent fit and they don't slide around.

Both mats use the hooks.
