Smile Fit Newbie with low rpm question

As a new owner of a 2008 M/T I have noticed a couple of things that seem odd and somewhat irritating, maybe it's just me or a weird habit of the car, anyway, here goes... The clutch disengages at the very top of the pedal, I assume this can be adjusted? I notice there is a flat spot in the rpm band between 800 and 1000, very aggravating as this is the rpm range when you're trying at accelerate from a dead stop, and finally, there seems to be a minor hesitation about 2700 rpm. I always feel it while I'm accelerating just before i shift. Other than the above-mentioned complaints, the car runs great and it averages about 36 mpg so whatever problem it may have is not serious enough to affect the mileage. Am I being overly picky or is this correctable? Many thanks for any insight anyone can provide

Scott

No torque there, try slipping out the clutch around 1800rpm and soft transition as you get rolling.

As far as hesitation around 2700rpm.. either you are feeling knock-retard depending on load, or you have your foot resting ever so slightly on the clutch and the upper momentary switch is not fully depressed.

It could be the drive by wire throttle that is causing the hesitation you are experiencing at low RPM... Like DSM said it is necessary to rev higher as releasing the clutch... There is a drop in power caused by the transition from 4 intake valves opening to 8 opening but I believe it occurs around 3700 RPM and is caused by a drop in the intake flow velocity.

Don't quote me on this, but I am fairly sure that the other valves open up between 2400-3600 depending on acceleration. And yes the clutch is very high on this car, takes a bit to get used to but I've come to actually prefer it over other cars.
