2009-2012 Side Molding on GD?
Can anyone think of a reason why this wouldn't work? I really like the shape of the newer molding versus the generic molding that will fit the GD. Just wanted to pose the question before I pulled the trigger either way. Thanks for your input!

Whether you are talking about OEM Honda moldings or after-market doesn't matter. The moldings for GD and GE Fits do not cover the entire width of the doors- they don't run from edge to edge of the doors. OEM Accessory moldings from Honda are all very narrow. ZetaProducts.net offers similar narrow moldings for all Fits as well as wide moldings for all Fits, all less expensive than Honda and all painted to match your car. Visit their site and you will find many examples of both gen. Fits with both sizes of moldings. They are easy to install. The wide moldings are made of ABS plastic instead of the PVC that is the typical molding material. ABS is stronger, and prevents most dings from being transmitted into dents in the door skin sheet metal. PVC is soft, and most hits against them still dent the underlying door skin.
To the point of your question, GD and GE moldings will fit either car.
In the wide molding section of the Zetaproducts web site, both of the example photos showing the BOM GD3 and the BBP GE8 Fit are my cars. The GD3 was wrecked, and was replaced with the GE8. As you might guess, I am a wide molding fan- not fond of the narrow moldings on Fits.
