Red face 08 Fit Base Wheel Question

Was advised to move this here, so here it is:

I see all these posts about being 'new' and 'a noob' about customizing a Fit, then feel my brain dribble out my ears as the 'noob' uses terminology and phrases I've never experienced in my life; so I'm going to be the first to claim 'ultra-noob' status and put it out there that this is my first experience in customization ever, outside upgrading speakers.

Soon as I saw the Fit on the US market, I wanted one. Now I have one and want to play around with it. Been trying to read up on everything, but it's like learning to swim with Michael Phelps. Here's the gist:

Want some nicer wheels on my Fit. Nothing overt or crazy (I just want a nicer looking car, not looking to out race anyone), black on black, with maybe less tire. I'm not asking someone to do my shopping for me or anything like that, but some specs, brands, and places to look around would be much appreciated.

Been lurking these forums for a while and trust this group to be respectful, honest, and downright awesome to the noobiest of car noobs. Thanks in advance for your patience!

take a look at these two threads. this should really help you get a start on what you might want for new wheels.

Im sure your not looking for the JDM wheels that cost $1,000+ so some brands off the top of my head is rota, konig, Enkei and motegi. I would look at wheels in a 16x7 or 17x7 and a +45 offset. you can get away with lower offsets, I personely have had 16X7 +42 with very little to no rubbing but +45 is a very safe offset.

Welcome! I have an 08 Fit base that I have converted with the Sport kit. Tirerack.com and discounttires.com are good websites to start your wheel/tire search. I personally have 15x6.5 +38 offset Konig Feathers in gloss black with 205/50-15 Nitto NeoGens (pic below for reference). One thing to consider is the weight of the wheels you are thinking about purchasing. These lightweight/low power cars respond really well to lighter wheels as far as ride/handling/acceleration. Heavier wheels will really take a toll on the fun. Just something to consider. MNFit doesn't have to worry as much about the low power problem . You will find plenty of good suggestions on this site about mods for the Fit.
