Just started using Fuelly. 20mpg?!

I do drive in a spirited way but 20 seems crazy low. I'm trying to figure what it might be. Perhaps a badly adjusted parking brake? I do almost exclusively city driving.
I'm on stock sport rims with Yokohama s drives. No mods/CAI, just the stock engine. No roof rack. Car has about 80k kilometers (55k miles).

How many miles is that over? How consistent are you about stopping the gas pump? If it's a pretty small distance/small topping off of the tank, the errors in where the pump shuts off could throw any reading off by quite a bit. Over the long term, these errors will completely average out, but for the individual milages there can be variability.
20 mpg doesn't sound impossibly low for city driving, particularly if it's many short trips or a lot of time spent stuck in traffic. What does your dashboard gauge report for gas milage?
Certainly a sticky parking brake is a possible problem, though I'd expect you would notice the sluggish performance of the car in that case. Seeing how warm the rear rims get after driving a spell, in comparison to the fronts, is one quick and easy check to see if there's something badly wrong. It's not completely foolproof, of course.
@xxryu139x -- 20 km/l is equivalent to 47 mpg (US gallons) if I computed properly...which, though a much nicer number, seems quite improbable for spirited city driving.

My wife's 07 Fit Sport automatic milage varies between 25 MPG and 30 MPG based on things like short trips vs. long trips. City stop and go traffic vs. highway. AC on vs. AC off. Driving style also makes a big difference. The most accurate way to calculate the milage is to record it over a half a dozen fill ups and take the average.
My engine air filter is up for being changed according to the MM but it looks pretty clean. I took it (the air filter) in last time I went to the Honda and showed it to the parts guy. He said it still looked serviceable but then again this guy is a raging idiot and knows basically nothing about my car.
I haven't checked the spark plugs but haven't gotten any CEL and I'm at like 50k miles. How do I check the plugs and what should I look for?
Is that a joke? In the metric system, fuel consumption in measure in litres per 100kilometers. I'm at about 11. I checked on Fuelly and in about 140 GD Fits, everyone is between 6 and 8 litres/100km and the very highest I could find was 10. I'm at 11
Hopefully, it's just because I did two fill up. I filled up when the tank was about half empty because the price of gas was low that day. I'm at 2 fill ups.

Hey, MTL, city driving has just too many variables. Sitting and idling, stop and go, super short trips (no warm up period = bad MPG). Also figure that it's winter time now, which means colder air (more fuel) and winter blend gas. I always notice something like a 10% drop in MPG during winter here.
With that said, 20MPG still sounds a bit low. If you're in heavy traffic, I can understand that, but if not, something may be amiss. I would just drive normal and do several more fill ups to see where you're at. It could also be bad gas or a gas pump that may have clicked off prematurely or something like that.

Did you check the spark plugs?
I don't see much issue with that personally. It all depends on your driving.
From personal experience I see great differences in my gas mileage depending on how I drive for the week. If I'm in the "Ferrari" mood I get a lot less compared to the weeks that I drive like a grandpa.
My driving habits fluctuate greatly. So does my mileage haha.

No. I do use ultramar often but all the pumps in Montreal use the 10% ethanol gas. I don't use any noname gas stations. Just Ultramar, PetroCanada, Shell etc.
I guess I did only do 150km and I did press the trigger until it shut off a second time so if I got in an extra couple litres, it could have throw off the reading. I'll just keep fuelling to see what happens.
Unfortunately, with winter coming, I plan on starting to use my remote starter so my MPG will for sure go down so it'll be hard to compare.
I'm trying to drive with absolutely no rev matching, only breaking, to see if that helps.

I always try to stick with reputable gas stations as well. That will help. Personally I am always a Petro Canada customer. Gotta love petro points and free gas. Use to be better when petro points were good for computers haha. But yeah you never want to fill up at Husky. 1) they have been known to have crappy gas Ie water in it. 2) well I dont smoke anymore and this is unrealted, but they like to sell stale smokes with mold. So that speaks a lot for the company. And I have seen this at a few Husky's in my area. My gas light on and no Petro in sight, I keep pushing tilll there is one. Or CAA is coming with a Jerry Can haha.
You may not be totally crazy.
The bulk of my driving is a few miles through oakland every day to work. I have had my car 3ish weeks now and my mpg average reads 20.2. On the highways I get great gas mileage (took a trip down state the day after I got the car) but my city mpg is pretty low.
I have tried to adjust the roads I drive on so there are fewer stops.

Right?!?
I am not a speed demon- I don't floor the gas between stops.
I come to smooth stops.
If I see the light will change soon, I coast so I don't come to a complete stop and can take advantage of my momentum.
If you can tell me what I am doing 'wrong'... I would be HAPPY to change it.
All I can tell you is my daily commute is stop and go for 15 minutes. When I am on streets where I don't have to stop as often, I can get the mileage to start climbing. Other than that... my average read is 19.8 and 20.3 consistently.
If I go on highway trips, it climbs substantially.
