Wheel fitment

I was checking for a friend what specs he should run on his fit. He's going to be putting lowering springs and wants to shoot for 16" wheels. What tire profile would guys suggest and how wide do you guys run?

The width and offset of the rim matters. Do you know them?

Most people running 16's on a GD# are 16x7 or 16x8 with 205-225 width tires and +35 to +45 offset. these are some general guidelines.

That was only piece of the info, the width. It's still just a guess, though. Steve is right:

If the wheel is a 16x8 (less common) or 16x7 (very common) the common tire size is 205/50R16.

A 16x6 wheel (very common) runs a 185/55R16.

205/50/16 is too tall for a GD. You will rub if lowered.

He's gonna go with some rota grids 16x7, get the springs and talk to a tire shop and see what they recommend.
