ipod hook up in my glove box. (suprise)

While looking for something in my glove box today I came across an ipod connector in there. Was this a factory option or did the previous owner have it added? I don't own an iPod or any Apple product but I might buy one if I can control it through the head unit.

It's probably stock. It can do more than just Apple products too-I think it'll work with a USB drive with music on it. Check the manual.

It's probably Honda's iLink iPod/phone hook-up. You're lucky bro. Enjoy. Especially if you don't plan on putting a nice deck in.

Wait. Your 2001-2008 Fit (or Fit equivalent) has two glove boxes? Weird! My 2007 USDM GD3 Fit Base only came with one glove box. Either I missed the second one for the last eight years or you mean you have a 2009+ Fit, in which case it would make sense that there are two glove boxes (upper and lower) and one of them has the iPod connection because they came that way from the factory.

I finally got to looking at the manuals that were in the glovebox of my fit and sure enough there was a manual for Honda Soundlink and a computer CD-Rom of said manual. It looks like I can hook up an ipod to it but it has to be 4th generation or newer, and it will charge through the cable and I can control the ipod through the factory radio. As far as what the set-up looks like it is simply a cord running through a grommeted hole in the top portion of the inside of the glove box. The cord itself is black and there's a see through cover/cap attached to it. Now time to shop for a 4th gen ipod and see how it works out :-)

Well after some research on this site it looks like the Honda Soundlink is utter garbage. It might not be worth it to me to buy an ipod. Guess i'll just stick to my android phone through the aux cable.

I've got an older iPod hooked up to mine. It's good for playing the entire library, but HU controls are very limited other than skipping tracks.

That said, I do like it and for the price you can pick up an older iPod, I'd say it would be worth it.

The advantage to using the USB connector over the aux port in my opinion is that it charges your device. Otherwise the basic controls work ok, but it's nothing to write home about.

Cool accessory to have anyways. It was a dealer-installed option on the Sport's.

Just for clarification, are some of yours coming with USB ports? I was only aware of the iPod cables.

p nut, please help me out :-)
All I can get it to do is play the music in a random ass order. I have 7GB of music on that ipod, arranged by album but as soon as I plug it into the Fit, it groups all the songs out of order and just allows me to either select the next track, or the previous track. That's it. I have the Honda Music Link disc, it was in my glovebox but it will not load on my computer for shit :-( Any suggestions??
