First Post - Introducing My 07 SSM Fit
Hello everyone, I've been a daily visitor to this site since I bought my car and finally decided to make an account and start posting!
Just a little info, I bought a car back in April of 2013 as a daily just to get me to and from work for the summer. It was a Kia Rio5 Sport with 100,000 kms on it and VERY clean, it turned out to be a good little car until the end of August when this happened...
I got rear ended and ended up smashing into the truck ahead of me. It was pretty scary but at least I came out alright, cant say the same for the car though, it was totalled
I needed a new car and I am addicted to hondas, so I started looking for fits. I stumbled across a few until I found the one I was looking for. It was a 2007 SSM, 5 Speed, completely stock fit and I loved it. Although it had high kms when I bought it (181,000), it was in super good shape with very little rust and no body damage.
Here she is:
I haven't done much in the way of modifications seeing as school take priority in the money department, but I have saved up some money and plan on doing as many mods as I can without blowing all the $$$$
Just a few recent pictures and little DIY stuff:
Made a shitty license plate relocate for now until I can find/make a tow hook mount
Bought some new grippy tires - BF Goodrich G Force Sport Comp 2
195/55/15 (amazing tires, would definitely recommend them)
Test fitted my friends wheels from his track Miata just for fun
15x7 +25 on 205/50/15 on Falken Azenis tires
Looks higher than usual since the suspension was settled after lowering it down haha
Just a post to introduce myself and my Fit!
Money is tight right now but there will be more mods on the way

Thanks! I live in the oakville area, I was on my way home from work in Guelph and the accident happened in hamilton/waterdown, thats why its on the waterdown towing truck lol. I was going to get the mugen visors for it, but my dad jumped the gun and got me some for christmas because he heard me talking about them. They're WeatherTech visors. They're nice because they go all the way down to the bottom of the front window too, which the mugen visors don't.

Nice. Yea im in waterdown often. I have been looking for some visors I like the mugen ones but they are more then I want to spend lol. Ill have to price out a set of weather tech visors. Looked at a car with avs visors on it today but not a fan of the fitment.

I think the weather techs are around $120-$140 depending on where you look. The only thing i've noticed with these ones is the fitment of the rear windows is a bit of a pain in the ass. The end closest to the rear of the car would slip out a tiny bit more than the front, but once they set themselves its not a huge deal (to me anyways)

Thanks buddy I try to keep her as clean as I can haha
I'm from Canada so its actually in kilometres, currently i'm at 197,000 kms which is about 122,000 miles or so, but I'm sure one day I'll get up to 180,000 miles and hopefully it still looks this good!

Thanks for the website, I actually stumbled upon it the other day and they do have good prices! I can't really afford expensive things like coilovers right now (probably next summer) but I just ordered a progress rear sway bar and some red badges and other little stuff to tie me over for a while haha

Oh nice dude, we should set up a meet or something for all the GTA Fits. and as for the tint I'm not too sure because the previous owner got it tinted, its dark but not ridiculous, I would guess maybe around 25-30% all around. But then again i'm no tint expert so I could be wrong haha

Yeah buddy, I know coilovers are expensive but I think its worth it for the adjustability. Although springs would probably be better for the roads around here lol

I'm going to be tracking the car in the future that's why I'm more interested in coils. And for a set of springs plus a good set of shocks is going to run up towards the price of coils anyways

I picked it up from andysautosport.com for around $160 shipped to my door. Should arrive in the next week or so (hopefully lol)
