car wont turn over

Hey guys,

So my fit won't start, I put gas in it from a gas container that was empty but dirty. I found out that the filter that is attached to the fuel pump was clogged with shaved metal and grime from the inside part of the gas tank. But its still not turning on. Injectors? Any I deas guys? Before I put the gas the car was running great. I put the gas and took off a couple hours a d when I gassed it it started choking like it was running out of gas then the check engine flashed, idk how many times. But its not flashing anymore. Hope to find out whats wrong. I want to run it again. Thanks everyone.

My guess is you have bits of shavings small enough to get thru the filter but are plugging the injectors. pull the injectors and safely see if plenty of gas flows when thestarter is used. you may have to replace injectors as they are very hard to clean out. You'll also have to check the back pressure control valve down stream of the injectors too.
and the fuel pump, being a positive displaceent pump has been locked up by those metal parts.
Once you check for fuel flow you'll get a clue whats happening.
sorry but its a bunch of hard work.
PS pull the injectors one at a time to limit gas waste and hopefully find one OK. NO, if you find one bad, replace 'em all.
BTW you did check that the battery was good, surely?

You sure you didn't put diesel or something by mistake?
Just kidding.

Maybe fuel pump went out, could also be injectors like mahout stated, I'd check those out first.
