Different wire harness between 07/08

I replaced my 2007 sport MT rear driver door due to a wreck with a 2008 base automatic door. The wiring harness was different so I looked them up.
The 07 part number is 32753-SLN-A00
The 08 part number is 32753-SAA-E60

The difference is that the 07 has two plugs that run to the latch mechanism whereas the 08 only has one. Due to this the terminal ends of the harnesses are not interchangeable. I switched them out to install the 08 door and left one of the two old harness ends dangling. I have encountered no problems so far. I am curious if anyone knows what the second lead does that I did not plug in?

My 2007 harness plugged into my 2007 interior latch module

My 2007 latch module with two electrical plugs

The 2008 harness plugged into the 2008 interior latch module, notice the second spot has no electrical leads.

Well, I don't notice any missing functionality. I still have no idea what that extra plug does.

The only thing I can think of is can you roll the window down from the drivers seat and can you lock that door from the drivers seat. Only two controls there are.

According to the 2007 ETM:
1. The 3 conductor connector is related to the security system knowing the lock/unlock state of the door.
2. The 2 conductor connector is the actual power lock actuator that locks the door.

For the 2007 at least, it looks like the result of the 3 conductor one not being connected is that the security system may think the door is always locked. Although I am not completely sure of that since the ETM I have shows that one of the pins of the 3 conductor connector is not used, but yours clearly has 3 wires on it. The manual also shows that the 3 conductor connector is only present on the sport, so the difference is more likely because of base vs. sport rather than 07 vs. 08. Hopefully this helps.

Hmmm. So the base fits did not have an alarm? I just tested my alarm. I rolled down my windows, shut the doors and armed the system. When I manually pulled the locks up and opened any of the doors the system did not sound. But I actually dont remember if they did before. I am guessing that the whole system is disabled since I don't have the entire circuit complete.

As far as I know, none of the base GDs had stock alarms in the US. I am not sure about the Canadian models.

I am not sure what the expected behavior would be in your test case since I have a base 2007.
