air filter, engine, Fit 2007

The cover of the housing won't get out on my Fit 2007. I released the 4 clips, I lifted a bit the front end of the cover but something retain the rear side. Is it possible the air filter to be wrongly mounted and now to block the move of the cover?

Are you sure that the air filter wasn't installed upside down? I've seen that happen a few times and the air box's lid will be a bit difficult to remove without a little extra effort.

curious if previous owner or a shop glued the pipe to the intake box for some ill advised reason?

After an hour fight with the lid, trying not to brake it , I remove it and found the filter mounted upside down. It is Y1307 - no signs how to install or direction of the air.
upside down

correct

When Jiffy lube installed air filter upside down on 91 Camry v-6 the engine was running VERY rich!
