Idle revs dropping, car jerking when stopped in 'D'
I've got a 2002 Honda Fit (JDM version in NZ)
Car was running all fine. Then I had to jumpstart it one day because the battery was just a bit too flat. Right after this the problems started...
When stopped and in D (or S or L), I get the revs doing that dance kind of like in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9Oz...ature=youtu.be . You can also feel the car jerk a bit when the revs jump. This does not happen in N (it idles smoothly) or R or P. If I'm on the brake lightly, you can notice the car want to lurch forward. Also, if coming off the brake and then wanting to go forward, it sometimes seems/feels like the transmission isn't engaged and it won't go forward right away. When the car's moving, it drives fine. Occasionally it will behave itself when stopped, though it kind of seems like it is revving a little too low at idle.
No fault codes are being shown by the ECU yet and no lights on the dash. These problems occur even with the A/C off.
Cheers!

No experience with non-USA Fits, BUT:
My first attempt would be to disconnect the battery for 15 minutes. Low voltage can 'confuse' the electronics.
After that, do the Idle Learn Procedure.
Let us know the results.

just an update on the situation... I tried the idle relearn procedure in the driveway, but must not have done it correctly or long enough as it didn't seem to make a difference. However, I took the car on the motorway, driving a fairly consistent 100km/h for about 20 minutes, and that seemed to have fixed it! Been driving fine for a while now.

Hi. I have the same problem. Have you fixed it?I have a Fit aria 2006. First the spark plugs were changed but the problem didn’t fix. Then, the CVT oil was changed and it worked for about a month. After that the problem continued. Today a was in a transmisión specialist and said that is working good. But the car was scanned in Honda and said that is probably the transmission. Suggest to change it but didn’t say what was the specific problem. I need help. The car still have the jerking about 70% of times I stop completely. Thanks.

hah! funny thing about that battery...
so I had been going through a cycle of recharging the battery using one of those battery chargers you plug into the wall. I was going to try and swap the battery with one from my other car to make sure it was the battery that was the issue.
- so I removed the Honda Fit battery when (I believe?) it was drained enough that the car wouldnt start
- went to check the other battery... realized it wouldn't fit in the Fit.
- so I reinstalled the Honda's battery after it had been sitting on a palette in the garage for maybe half a day
- a couple days later, i gave it a go starting up the Fit... to my surprise, it started!
- I drove it for about a 30 minute drive on the motorway (brought the charger with me just in case)
- 8 hours later, it started up again just fine for my return 30-45 minute trip
since then the battery has been giving me no problems at all! (knock on wood).
However, recently it's starting to display some of the symptoms it was doing before I had battery issues the last time
These are...
Car clock slowly slows down (starts being on time, then eventually will be 1 minute slow, then 2 minutes, 3 minutes...)
and the radio sometimes refuses to switch stations. I'll hit the button and the display will just flash once and not do anything. At the moment, if this happens it will still change stations after pushing the button another 1 or 2 times. Before the battery issues it got to the point where the display wasnt working but the radio was still playing, but couldnt switch stations. Bizarre.

^^^ Signs of low voltage!
Load test the battery...(but if it more than 3 years old, just replace it)
++++++++++++++++
another thing to do:
Clean the throttle body & butterfly inside it. Dirt will cause weird idle issues.
