The dead pedal issue again...

Has anyone ever used a dead pedal from another car(Civic, S2000, etc) and modified it to fit the fit, lol. Saying that always sounds funny. Like when I had to buy a Thule roof rack fit kit for the fit. That fit kit didn't fit the fit for sh** either...

Anyway, I need to make something work, having to dead pedal was the DUMBEST thing they overlooked at Honda. Makes me wonder who the dummy was that said, nope, not needed...............

They probably saved $.50 in materials and $.50 labor when building the car. Besides that, look at the weight they saved.

The pedal looks smaller than it really is, it also looks closer to the side as it really is. It sits perfectly for me with my size 11's, not too far out or in, Good height. My foot sits flat on it, no angles. It just worked out perfectly. And only cost me $16... And I won't be searching for a place to rest my foot anymore!!!!

I'm totally in for a DIY on this.
How did you fasten it?

That larger piece on the flat mounting bracket has to be cut off, then I had to slightly twist the flat part in a vice so the pedal would be squared, and straight. I then used 4 hex head 1'4" heavy duty self tapping screws to secure it. I took out the plastic cover, and after I had the pedal mounted I had to remove a small piece of it so it would slide back over.

I would have taken step by step pictures, but it was 93 degrees and rain forest humidity going on, I just wanted it in and to be done lol. Maybe when it's cooler I will pull the cover off and take pictures. It took a total of 30 minutes. And cost $16 on Amazon. Dead pedal in my Fit = PRICELESS!!!!
