Purchasing a 2008 Fit

I have some questions. I'm going to see a seller (private sale) regarding a 2008 honda fit. It has about 90K miles and it's going for $3800. This seems like a pretty good deal. I'm somewhat familiar with honda civics, but have no knowledge of the fit.

A few hopefully easy questions:

1. is that a fair price?

2. what should I inspect specifically when I go to see the car?

3. when I test drive it is there anything I should be looking out for?

4. any more general advice?

Thanks in advance so much! To my knowledge the fit is pretty reliable, and it's a fair price. I haven't been able to see anything I should look for specifically. My old 99 Civic had a timing belt that might be a concern, but apparently the Fit has a timing chain and shouldn't be an issue. It seems the fit and the civic are similar in that they're pretty economical, boring cars. side note: if I get the car I'd only drive it during the winter (massachusetts has a bunch of snow) and for road trips. Probably no more then 5K miles a year. with that being said should I do all the 100K maintenance next year or so?

Check for service records regards coil pack replacement and valve adjustments.

At 10 years old that car is due for the 100K service NOW.

Is it a BASE or SPORT model? Price is high for private sale unless the car is PERFECT.

Ditto above. Also check for signs of water damage. Ours has been water tight, but many had problems with water leaking into the spare tire well and rear foot area.

Of course, also look for rust. Ours is rust free, but we're in the South. Look at the rocker areas and gas door area especially. I've seen pics of Fit's from the North with rust in those areas.

Hope it's a winner. I can say that the GD Fit's are fun to own.
