I noticed that the front left rubber bushing mount thingie on my manual transmission Fit was broken. I bought a new one, and when I replaced the part, I noticed the bolt that goes through the middle is hexagonal and much smaller than the hole it fits into. Is it supposed to be like that? That seems all kinds of wrong to me. The original part I took off was the same. There's a washer and nut that hold it on, but they don't center the bolt in the hole; I had to jack up the transmission to the right height so that bolt was centered. Anybody else done this replacement?

Reason: Solved
That is strange. Looking at parts diagrams, they show that the bolt is round after the hex part. I would think the round part should be the same diameter as the hole and that the hex part fits the washer to keep it from spinning?

Yeah, sorry - I think it is round after the hex part. I think I misspoke. But the diameter is definitely smaller than the hole it goes through. Is it possible they make it that way on purpose so that the connection doesn't seize up? The hex part does indeed stop the washer from turning.
