Inside of the throttle body (pictures in Doc file)

Junk yard practice (inside of the throttle body), gas pump and more!

Open throttle body with black plastic intermediate gear

Throttle body cover with contact-less TP sensor; two terminals below are for electric motor

Throttle plate electric motor (huge) and black gear

Throttle stop screw red arrow and MAP sensor (hard to remove)

Fuel pump nut comes easily but fuel line not so easy

Clean gas tank

Fuel pump unit with float

float close up it has ceramic potentiometer with lines instead of continuous restive strip for reliability. I remember the times when wire wound pots were used (1978 Cressida 2.6)

Six pin connector on throttle body

Clean coolant passages, no corrosion or scale!

Tight but not seated spark plug destroyed newer coil!

Enjoy!

Curious

Just wondering why you needed to do this. After 10 years and 200K miles I have had no issues at all with my throttle body or fuel pump module. I have had to replace two modules in my '99 Dakota because of poor fuel pressure and found a surgically clean tank and nice looking filter each time. But Honda stuff doesn't seem designed to fail regularly like American dinosaurs, You have to drop the fuel tank on the Dakota, thank God Honda gives us the portal.

Some people are driving like grandmas and never had issue with cars!
In five more years, when people on limited budget will start buying abused and neglected Fits they will be very grateful for these images.
Even now stuff happens when someone will fill the tank with water or sugar or when thermostat will seize to function, these images may be helpful too.
So far I found no tutorials for thermostat change (don't tell me it's easy!)
So I will try few more Fits until I develop straight forward tutorial
Well, since 99% of the forum users cannot change spark plug or rear shoes this information is useless anyways
BTW I had issue with dirty throttle body (dust entered via grommet around IAT sensor)

I have this file in the manual and the work is not as easy as its written. Most manuals are VERY superficial and written by copy and paste experts. The wire harness (in black plastic channel) that blocks access to the upper screws of the thermostat cover has no slack. I had to cut the wire ties from the fire wall and remove a throttle body in order to get to these screws.

Sorry dude, didn't mean to offend you, but thanks for sparring back. It is all helpful information and we can never get enough of the real thing. And that is usually gotten with sweat, blood and some juicy cuss words. I neglected to say Thank You, my bad.

No probs
Since I cannot attend Honda training classes (I took few Toyota electrical classes back in 1995 [even before T-10] just to get ASE certified) I have to learn everything myself on the car's corpses (so for $3 I can practice a lot). Taking parts apart pardon the pun is letting me to understand how they are working!
