what should i do?
Long story short my brand new GE8 fit got rear ended. the impact collapsed my exhaust so it will obviously it needs to be replaced. so since the other dudes insurance is going to have to pay for a new exhaust from the cat back (OEM) do you think it would be possible to get the money for the cost of the OEM and put it towards an aftermarket catback and just have the bodyshop put it on. it sounds like a deal to me. what do you think? and which brands should i look at?

Sounds like and awesome deal to me. It doesnt matter wat u spend the money on u get back from the car. Its ur car and u could put on all aftermarket crap on it if u want usually its cheaper than oem anyways. But ya i got side swiped and i took all the money and fixed it myself. If its the other guys fault than u can do watever u want.

yeah cuz the oem exhaust are super expensive.
you can do that.
my buddy with his bike got tipped over, and it has litterally a 1/3 of an inch inch scratch on the weld. and the insurance gave him the money for the full header back exhaust.
it isnt fraud, they give you money to repair the stuff however you feel like it. a shop doesnt have to fix it, you can take the money and do it yourself. thats what i do .
go with the t1r for sure hands down.

Its not fraud, the insurance company is simply paying the price of the oem parts. Its always up to the end user how they spend the cash they get.

ok so i went for the t1r muffler only. i ordered it on wendnesday and got rush delivery and got it today (friday) and it looks amazing. the other guys insurance company paid for 238 dollars for it and i paid 277 dollars for it... not a bad deal for me eh.

The OEM axle-back lists at $184 and the B pipe lists at $153. Not that expensive.
