Smile GE8 Tow Hook Mounted Front License Plate

I took a few pics. Do you guys like it over the stock one? I still have all the old hardware if I want to switch back...

I put that foam adhesive strip there to protect the paint in the off chance that something pushes the plate into the bumper. That aluminum plus the plate make it pretty sturdy.

WTF????

and I don't care for the offset as well. Not to discourage you on it, just too far over for my taste.

As far as the law is concerned I got this info off the Texas DPS website:

"State law requires that you display two (2) license plates, one to the front and one to the rear. Placement or mounting of license plates is not defined."

I think its better than putting it up in the windshield.

Maybe I'll just use the mounts from original holder and make the plate hang down in front of the grille opening instead of up in front of the bumper.

Creative input would be helpful

i think the honda solution for the front plate mounting already is pretty innovative. i bought mine used from a state that requires front plates (AZ doesnt). I was able to remove the holder, and dont have any big holes in the bumper.

I think I would like it better if it went left from the bolt instead of right.

I like it. I don't think that tape would save your paint though. I would mount a foam block to the back of the license plate holder.

sorry for not seeing this post, not sure how the ge8 front plates are, but i just cut off the top portion and screwed in my plate to the lower portion, which had indentation for where a screw would if someone wanted to mount 4 bolts into their plate, i'll take pictures when i have some free time.

INTERESTING...however i have a sport n it looks like it'll cover the driver's side foglight. possibly. anyone ever try flipping the license plate mount? ..but then again, that'll block some air flow to the radiator/condensor. oh well..stock location FTW.
