hood edge deflector
#21
The deflector from College Hills is definitely NOT the one from the "Form Fit" deflector factory in Canada. The smaller stick-on version might do a fairly good job of protecting the hood edge, but the Canadian deflector does a lot more.
With the larger deflector, water and leaves cannot collect and stain the paint because the forward edge is open and allows collected water to drain. It is also a wing that creates a low pressure area at the windshield and a high pressure wave that goes over the roof when driving at speed. Rocks and bugs don't hit the windshield.
If the little deflector works the same way, great. From the photo, I doubt that.
The collegehills install demo in ampete04's post #12 is the original, Canadian-made OEM deflector. The tape-mount small deflectors will almost certainly collect water and stain the paint, but for the sake of the recent buyer of the small deflector, I hope that my guess is wrong.

The College Hill is a aftermarket Zeta was manufacturer by a provider of the OEM part. I think the College Hill one now offer is held on by 3M tape where the original screw on the underside of the hood.

Have you received the part or confirmation of purchase?

To DigitalDude-
Don't buy until you find a source for the Honda Canada accessory deflector (made by the Form Fit factory). Compared to the photo of the after-market one being sold by Collegehillshonda, the original deflector is well worth any extra cost to get one from Canada.
I suggest that you contact several Canadian Honda dealers until you find one with the best price and shipping cost combo. You will be glad that you waited for the best.
Sorry that the best costs so much now, and that there are no more U.S. dealers left for this accessory. My GE Fit is coming up on five years old now, and there is not one rock chip or bug splat on either the hood or the windshield. Keep in mind that I bought the very first Hood Deflector sold in the U.S. for a GE Fit.

Hey DD,
the package came in on Wednesday. I ordered it on Friday so that was a pretty quick turnaround. I haven't had time to install it yet but I snapped some photos.
It's the same as the Zeta deflector and it says "Form Fit" on the logo. All mounting hardware seems included. Awesome! Total cost was $137.82.
Planning on installing it next week. Thanks for the lead and they are definitely legit. Very happy to get this part
cheers all

Got it in the mail. ill pass on the install. It does, however, look pretty cool.

I decided to get some prices from dealerships around the Montreal area, to see if one had it at a reasonable-enough price that I'd either get it myself while in town on business, or ask a co-worker to bring it back for me.
So far:
Chagnon Honda: $118.32 + tax
Excel Honda: $118.32 + tax
Spinelli Honda: Pbbbppbpbptt

That's what I though from the photos on collegehillshonda.com. I had hoped that after you received it, what you got would be a good alternative to the harder-to-get Canadian product. It doesn't look like that will be the case, but please post your results and a photo (if you decide to put yours on the car and not return it for a refund). Good luck!

So, here's where I am right now with Spinelli Honda...Bear in mind their web form requires me to enter my VIN, make, and model.
At this point I gave up. Goddamn Quebecers...
Hi sir, what car is it?? 4 doors are 2 door thank
It is a 5-door, the VIN number is provided in my order form (VIN Number here). Also I believe the GE8 has only ever had 5 doors.
Hi what car is it?? Civic?? What years?? 2door or 4 doors???

I'm sure people still find this thread looking for the hood deflector (how I got here). You can now purchase these directly from FormFit through Paypal. Their website is formfithoodprotectors.com.
Price was $53.90 plus $31.25 shipping to NJ ($85.15 total). Hopefully this helps some people out.

I just got a Form Fit protector for my 2007 directly from Form Fit. It was about $95 Canadian (about $80 US). These prices are estimates, don't remember the exact amount. Their website doesn't list a 2015 yet.
