Crystal Black Mugen Grille on Non-Black GE
After seeing a few GE's with the color matched Mugen grille's I took a risk and ended up ordering the Crystal Black version for my Taffeta White to do something different
I couldn't find someone with a non-color-matched grille so hopefully this helps people who are thinking of doing the same mod :thumbups: Before http://i638.photobucket.com/albums/u...4.jpg~original After http://i638.photobucket.com/albums/u...5.jpg~original http://i638.photobucket.com/albums/u...f.jpg~original After removing the hood deflector https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ssSWVzHEs...0/IMG_5014.JPG http://i638.photobucket.com/albums/u...8.jpg~original Further away http://i638.photobucket.com/albums/u...a.jpg~original http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-c4wImKmtP9...0/IMG_5030.JPG |
WAIS, looking good! I think it actually looks better than the white on white combination.

My only concern was that the color wouldn't be as glossy but I am glad that I liked the way final product |
:thumbups: looks way better than color matched! Props for having the balls to do this!

The best thing about the Mugen grille is that it is so much easier to clean vs the OEM :thumbups:

Nice combination, any plans of changing the badge to red ones?

Dibs when you sell it in the future lol.
That's a good contrast to the white, Wais |

Indeed. It was a big chunk if I do recall! Lol
I normally try to justify my mods by selling something :D |
Looks better then I thought it would.

The fact that it is so shiny makes it look like it was always intended to be black rather than color matched. |

I would've thought it would work from the beginning, considering the original grille is already black.
The only thing i dislike is the tiny sliver of white thats visible when looking downish. Its on the upper edge where the overlap stops. Too bad the overlap wasn't designed to continue up and inside (under the hood). Maybe a touch of plastidip/paint/e-tape? |

I'm not too big on too many contrasting accents. I have an SSM Fit, and i wouldn't do black mirrors.
I like black colored wheels, but not with my Fit. While i don't dislike black trim headlights, again, not for me on my Fit. Of course, its all personal sense of aesthetics. Black Mugen grille doesn't clash with my sense of aesthetics, its just i like the Sports grille a little more. |

I personally have always been a fan of the contrast and both of my cars follow the same theme. That's the great thing about modifying cars, we can all do our own thing ;) |
Looks good!
