Thanks Mike410b,
Don't forget to click on the Poll Button,
so the statistic there can be updated
so far 9 choose ASM, 2 (including you) choose Evo...
I am still confuse,
My Wife like the ASM,
I like them both...
well, I like the way the ASM do not have the Orange leather on the side,
but I don't like the letter ASM on the Recaro itself,
on the other hand I like the way the Evo had the Orange STITCHING
and had the word "Evolution" embroided on the head rest,
but that Orange leather on the side is distracting...
The price different is about 30,000 yen per seat, (ASM is more expensive at near 160,000 yen or around USD 1,600 per seat).
This is really confusing...
Wish I could see them directly here in the US before I buy...
but most of the owner that bought this were Nissan GT-R owner...
too bad I don't know any of GT-R owner that had this seat...
anybody here care to explain further why you choose the seat that you like (between this 2 model) ?

I voted Evolution because it's not an S2000, even though I like the ASM seats better.
For your car I like the Recaro Sport Topline, matches the interior better and has electric adjustments and heated seats, adjustable lumbar, which goes well with your build IMO
If you're going to make a luxurious Fit might as well go all the way right?

Hi Wafulz, do you have the original Recaro Rails ?
Also for the Passenger side,
does the LOWER seat belt bolt on the Passenger side,
that mount to our current OEM seat,
will mount to the Recaro Rails ?
I mean do the Recaro rails had that mounting for that lower seat belt bolt?
because I see the Japanese Fit had no problem installing both front recaro seat ...
Just want to make sure... I can mount the lower seat belt bolt on the passenger side...
Hi Wanderer,
Actually if you go to ASM website, most of the current buyer of that ASM seat are NOT S2000...
Many car including BMW's, GT-R, Toyota's etc etc even some ugly old minivan hahaha... buy the ASM Ruby Limited Edition version...
From what I read, ASM is now the LARGEST Recaro dealer in Japan,
so now I think they make more money selling Recaro's then selling S2000 parts, that is why Recaro Japan willing to make a special version for ASM
(not just this SR-7, but other model of Recaro also have ASM special edition too)...
so in this case, I think it is not a problem for other car to have ASM edition...
(it is not like I put a Mugen seat on a Mitsubishi hahaha )
Regarding Recaro TopLine (or other Recaro model)...
well, I don't really like other Recaro Model,
the only model that I want is SR-7, nothing else,
it is just that I really confuse between this ASM or the Evolution version of SR-7... both of them are very nice !
but for sure SR-7 is my Love at First Sight
Hi GinoLicious,
Evolution only came with Orange color,
I really like the Orange STITCHING,...
but I don't really like the Orange stripes though....
oh by the way...
other Recaro model do NOT have any Orange stitching...
I actually think that it would be even nicer if the evolution came in YELLOW Stitching and Yellow Stripe...
Again guys thank you for voting and your reasoning on why you choose which one...
to other reader,
please kindly vote your opinion and post it here why
Thanks

Alpina, between the two choices you listed, for you I think the Recaro SR-7 Evolution will fit your build better than the SR-7 ASM Ruby Limited. The SR-7 ASM Ruby Limited would match my interior completely, but I want that super luxury Recaro Ergomed ES. Seriously, you should look in to a lux Recaro.

What about buying the simplest SR7 you can find and get the stitching redone by an upholsterer?
A local NSX owner had that done on his steering wheel and his Pole Positions:

Yeah gotta have a luxury Recaro.. lol... Maybe a Recaro Ergomed ES w/ Side Air Bag in Black Leather w/ Red Stitching, that's the one I've been dreaming of since I researched it. It's even got cooling fans. But unless I hit it big, I doubt I'm gonna spend almost $5,000 for a seat.

I had check other model (shape) of Recaro by a glance,
and no other model "Stir" my feeling (hehehe) then the SR-7 shape.
I used to like the SR-11 shape, but now after comparing it to SR-7,
that SR-11 look too much "Darth Vader" to me hehehe
so only SR-7 or stick with OEM...
actually some Bride model looks nice too, but I am kinda fanatical to brand, so even Bride is good, I think I will stick with Recaro,
since I think Recaro's brand had more "heritage" compare to Bride.

yeah that is a good idea,
I never thought of that...
the simplest SR-7 is the SR7 KK100, but this one is too plain because the center part of the seat is the same color...
the better SR-7 is the second simplest one which is SR7 SK100,
where the center part is make of different material and color.
still it would make that Recaro became an unoriginal cause it is modified not by Recaro... and also there is that little "evolution" written on that headrest which I like
but again, this is a good idea and I would keep it in my mind just in case...
hmmm...
it seemed that the people who choose "evolution model" is more passionate in presenting their opinion here than the people who choose "asm" model
perhaps people who like orange color are more extrovert too

I would suggest using the BRIDE seat rails as they bolt up nicely to the seat and the car itself. The rails come with hardware to mount the belt buckle correctly in place. Wedge engineering brackets are nice which is what almost everyone uses, but I like the BRIDE design as it looks similar to OEM.
As for the seats I like the ASM SR 7. I personally like the RECARO SPEED, they look very similar and can be purchased from local vendors. You can get the SPEED in a few different color combinations too. The SPEED are built to order and will sometimes take about 6-12 weeks sometimes longer depending on the work they currently have.

I myself am a fan of the color orange in general. The seats do look dope with the orange. It all depends on the look that you are going for in your Fit. Personally, in mine, I'm doing a whole JDM interior, red stitching, black leather kind of deal. If I were to put the Evolution's in my Fit it would clash. But if you are not really doing anything special like that, and just looking for a sick pair of seats to roll out in, I say go Evolution man. They look excellent and comfy as hell. I don't think you could go wrong.

and for you guys the young people, this Bride might be perfect,
but there is no way an old man like me going to be caught driving my car in that a seat with Purple back color hehehe
too old for that
SR-7 and only SR-7 for me

I just check the Recaro Speed picture after reading your post,
and I prefer the SR-7 holes for the racing seat belt better than the Speed

but I am going to buy the JDM door handle (fabric that look like Carbon Fiber, and that metal plate near the A/C vent (instead of the Carbon Fiber like the US option one)...
and at the present I think I am more and more inclined toward the SR-7 evolution

I like the first one way better.
The evo is too "busy" for me with those orange pieces. You are building a nice Fit with all the right mods to meet what you are trying to do and in MY opinion those Evos don't match what you have done with the rest of the car.

yes, looks like we both have same opinion regarding that orange leather pieces of the side bolster... it's distracting.
I like the Evolution only because it's orange stitching, and the word Evolution on top of the seat
the orange stitching remind me of the 997 GT3 RS style
and the word Evolution remind me of
the old Mercedes 190E 2.5-16valve Evolution II.
all memorabilia for me hahaha
right now I am really thinking of Mike's idea about restitching the other Recaro SR-7 (the SR-7 SK100) or restitching the ASM one.
I still have a month (or 2) time to think about the choices for this Recaro, before I bought them.
Thanks Loudbang
