Hi, I've recently become the owner of a 2010 Japanese import Fit, probably very base model. I've seen mention on here of a USB port in the glove box, and found a picture (https://www.extremetech.com/wp-conte...01_038_hon.jpg). Mine doesn't have this, but it has a plain looking cover in the same place (photo attached - reversed because mine is a RHD). I am installing a Sony XAV-AX5000 that has rear USB outlets and I would like to have one of them come out right hrere. I have trawled through aliexpress, amazon, thingiverse, fitfreak, and anywhere else I can search for some kind of aftermarket option that would be an easy replacement but have come up empty. I am interested if anyone has found something similar that might work or has alternative suggestions. I'm not set on using the glovebox but on finding this I expected it would be easy...
It's prepared for the cooled clovebox, if you pull the cover off you can install the vent, and you have a cooled or varm box. it is not for USB, normally USB and AUX is in the middle under dashboard.
Don't place it in the glove box. Place it in the middle console like the picture above.
Search for threads here on the forum. A while back, I installed a USB extension from my OEM glove box USB port to extend it to the middle console as it was really annoying to have to stretch to the glove box each time I insert/remove my USB drive. Extension was about 20$ on amazon and had a grommet to fit nicely on the middle console.
