Brake Master Cylinder Upgrades
Brake Master Cylinder Upgrades
I know this topic has been discussed before, but I'm wanting to attack this from a slightly different angle. Options I have seen on this forum so far:
- Stock = 3/4"
- J's racing BMC (unknown dimension, 13/16" possibly, brake line mods required)
- CRZ = 13/16" (bolt-on)
- JDM Odyssey/EK booster = 1" (brake line mods required)
Given the above info, the mild conversion I'm trying to perform (DC2R calipers up front, FA5 or EP3Si calipers in the rear), the 1" seems overkill and the 13/16" may just be enough (I've read the rear drums take more fluid for purpose than discs would take). Given for the EK booster to basically bolt right up to the GE (vacuum hose change), and EK folks swapping 7/8" or 1" RS/GSR/Type R BMCs into those boosters, is there any reason this wouldn't work on a GE (obviously there would be some brake line modifications). Does anyone have any thoughts or other options?

Thanks for that reply, that was actually really helpful! I'll see what I can source from Japan/Australia for an M/C, unless someone has a cheap J's racing M/C that they want to part with. Don't want to go through the hassle of swapping out all the lines and brakes (DC2R front, Hybrid/EP3Si rear) just to have to redo all the brake bleeding. Much rather do everything at one time and save myself the hassle.
