Some kind of security device? Maybe there was a fob that you had to have near that sensor to start the car? Those are usually hidden behind the panel, though.

Why didn't you ask the people you got the car from?

Its definitely not a factory piece. If I had to guess, a throttle controller with an activation button (assuming that button actually is hooked up to the adjustable device).

Throttle controller.
I have the Sprint Controller and it looks very similar.
In your last pic...follow the biggest group of wires (not the two orange ones). If they lead to the back of your throttle pedal...it's a controller.

Riddled replys

Well——
I reckon-I’ll have to let ya’ll know the correct answer and how I make it work...what ever it is...Ima take it to an auto electronics dealer...when I get an opportunity...
As for asking my friend that ‘willed’ the car to my daughter...I think I’m not attempting contact...she probably doesn’t want me interrupting her rest...and I doubt she knew knew or even it was there-there-there-theeere ....lol

That is not a throttle controller. That is part of an old aftermarket security system. Hence the adjustable sensitivity button and kill switch button. Throttle controllers look nothing like this. They also plug into your gas pedal. Not hard wired into your fuse box area like alarms are.

^^^
How does it look different from my throttle controller? Where did he say that it was hard-wired into his fuse panel?

Def not a throttle controller. I'm pretty sure its an ignition kill alarm.

Heres one from the Tacoma forums
