2009 Honda Fit Sport - Rear wheel well rust

Hi,

My 2009 Honda Fit Sport - Rear wheel well body panel is rusting out, right where that lip is. Are there any liners or protection that I can install once the panel is fixed?

i have rot in the same area. I noticed that road sand collects on the inside of the folded under lip. any sort of liner or cover, unless it is perfectly sealed, tends to collect debris too. when sand/dirt/dust collects in places, it keeps it wet longer, which promotes rust development. just make sure to clean it out occasionally, especially during sand and salt season, and it should be good!

Maybe the body shop could modify the replacement panel and liner so there's no upward facing lip. If the lip faced down, it would be so much better. Even a simple drain hole would be a big improvement.

I have the same thing. I'm looking to use some Evaporust and then try to seal it with Rustoleum.
