Kits like this are usually simple but have draw backs. For example some cars lose functionality of the key remote when the car is running. So once it starts you need to use the key to unlock the door to get in. Check if you can lock and unlock the doors with the remote while the car is running and youll know. Every car is different so you never know what things pop up until you try one.

If you are ok with the range of the remote and want a DIY it looks like a nice plug and play set up.

You can check it yourself. Start the car and hit the button on the remote.

one difference would be the fact that with the car started (with the key) the ignition would be turned to the "ON" position
with the remote start, the ignition would be in the "OFF" position

Remote start came today, took about 20 mins from opening the box until everything was all back together and it works great, I can start the car from inside my house with the original key, and then still use the keyless entry to unlock the door. I also included some photos of my $80.00 Black Friday radio that is also incredible for what it is.

Nice! It was that straightforward, eh?
I'll keep this in mind for family. They never make it out the door in time to preheat their cars.

Any idea on the range of this kit using the factory key fob? Well der.....I just pretty much answered my own question. It likely has to be within line of site I imagine.

I installed a new battery in my key fob yesterday, last night I was able to start the car while inside my work which is a brick building with no windows, I was able to see that it had started with the security camera, I also start it from inside my house and my driveway is pretty far away

That sounds pretty promising! And when you get in you just put the key in and turn to on position before hitting the brake pedal, and you are good to go?

Yep exactly just unlock door with fob just like usual and put in key and turn to on position and drive away if you press the brake before inserting key it will turn off, so nobody can steal the car, its best $200 Ive spent in awhile
