New Fit Project Acquired. Needs Work.

Just bought this fit that was in an accident. The previous owner went down a steep slope and tore the whole front bumper off. She said she tossed everything because she ran over it…

So that means I need to replace everything. Unfortunately, this is my first Fit, and I’m not familiar with all the ins and out.

I’m planning on scouring pick n parts in the Austin area or buying used parts.

I need help pointing out all the parts that are missing.

Here’s my list so far:
  • bumper (obviously)
  • upper grill (with badge)
  • lower grill
  • Left and right wheel well liners
  • Fog lights
  • tons of body clips
  • Maybe a engine splash shield

Unknowns:
  • under tray, does anything connect the bottom of the bumper to the rest of the car? Is there shield or a tray of some sort?
  • anything else?

A friend of mine owns a body shop out here in the SF/ Bay Area in California and has computer access to exploded views of the parts for most cars. Unless you can re-paint whatever bumper you put on the car, you'll probably need to find a shop in your area to help with the paint work. Find a shop, and inquire about the price of work you might have him do. At the same time have the shop look over the damage, and ask for pointers about possible trouble areas that might have damage that's not noticeable now ie the radiator support etc. The shop will probably provide an exploded view of your Fit front end for you along with an estimate.

That’s a good idea but I don’t want to waste anyone’s time. I want to do a lot of this work myself. I am not looking for perfection. End goal for this car is to take it to a Gridlife Sundae Cup event.

I purchased a Storm Silver painted bumper and it should be here next week.

Look at a Honda website that shows exploded part views. This will also give you part numbers for what you need, then you'll be able to look on Rock Auto or ebay to find the parts.

Welcome! I am also in the Austin area and from what I have seen, the local LKQ yards are pretty slim on Fits. The one in south Austin has two 1st gens in rough shape, but no 2nd gens. But I have not searched farther out.

Regarding splash shields, no, the US Fit did not come with a splash shield under the engine. I am not sure about overseas models. The splash shield for the 2011-2012 Honda CR-Z is really close and you can install it by drilling some new holes, which I did for rallycross. There are plastic splash shields on either side of the engine, but not directly under it. I plan on getting an actual skidplate made at some point, but this works for now.

Yeah that's the way. Super easy to see what you're missing.

I have a GD and weirdly this site only has the first gen but basically this is what you're looking for: https://honda-europe.epc-data.com/ja...mt/20943/body/

Thanks! I looked at all the parts diagrams and didn’t see one. But those parts are listed in weird sections of those and just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything. Maybe I’ll grab a CRZ one if I see one at a yard.

I think I’ve found almost everything else.

I do need the female end of the dog light connectors. If anyone know the part number to those that would be great.

goal is to return it to factory spec then modify.

Fog light help

So. I have everything painted and installed. I am running into an issue with the fog lights. I’m not handy with wiring at all and need some help.

when the car was crashed, the bumper was ripped off with the fog lights. All that was left was the two wires with the metal crimps. No connectors. I found the right connectors but, I don’t know which goes in which spot.

The pigtail connectors came with short red and black wires. Here’s a picture. Can someone tell me which side each wire goes on?

Car/green/red and connector/black/black for example.
