Rocket Bunny?

Hey Guys!

yay or nay? I am trying to make some rocket bunny style fender flares for my 2012 ge8 fit, and maybe a chassis mounted wing. its going to take a lot of R&D work.

I can only find one company doing fender flares for ge8 "Fenderist". I got a 1800x1800x600mm Bumper size 3d printer, might as well 3d print it and see if i like them or not, will cost me about 100 bucks or so compared to 2000 plus shipping cost and hardware.

That rendering is all wrong.. First off it has 5 lugs. Second the Caliper is on the wrong side of the rotor.

rendering is time attack/track honda fit, and they do have conversion kits swaping out drums for disc.

Just my 2 cents worth. Why?? If you install these flares and then try to fill the flares out with tires and rims, you're going to have to cut the fenders and rear quarters out to avoid contact with the wheels. The front wheel wells are small to start with, and larger wheels with an offset to fill the flares probably won't fit in the end anyway. P.S. Cost wise, you'll also have to add a substantial amt to the price of the flares and side skirts and shipping to cover paint and prep costs.

This is all for fun, some people play game for fun but i prefer modifying cars for my pass time. I understand I need to cut my fender, I'm planning to get new tires and wheels anyway. well this is my ideal setup running (already got a turbo installed) fender flares, new tires, wheels, time attack/tracking wing.

You've gotten a lot of pushback on this
I think it looks cool, dude. Keep on going!

The wing mounting position is clever and I like the design. If anything i'm a little iffy about how the rear fender flares terminate in the rear. Kinda sucks back in to the OEM fender and makes the silhouette a lil jagged there BUT I'd still love to see this installed. Oh, and a little worried about keeping the stock wing in addition to yours - looks like it might cause some air f-ery where they meet. Like.. a whistle.

I like wide body kits. The stock fit looks like a cheese wedge with its elongated nose. I'm always envious when I see a first gen. I think your kit addresses that.

I think you are doing great work, and I love that you are doing the modeling yourself. Sure it might not be for everyone, but I am looking forward to how it turns out.

Definitely curious to see how this will all turn out in the end. When it all comes down to it, its your car, your money, and your time that you are putting in to it. I personally am not a fan of that first rendering, but that 2nd one looks promising.

The first is his work, the second was from the Fenderist web site.
