What's good Fit Fam! I'm a first time fit owner and I came across this Forum from a google search looking for parts. I'm currently in the market for a:
- Front Lip or Spats.
- Hood Delfector and Visors
- Hood Bra.
- What are the best coilovers (for cruising the streets?)
- What's the best specs for wheel fitment?
My goal is to make it a clean street cruiser. It's an auto so I'm not fortunate to bang any gears or touge or track it. So, if any of y'all can point me in the right direction, that will be super clutch. Appreciate the help.
Welcome! Im a long time lurker on this forum, but Im the original owner of my 2012 sport, and its been my favorite car being that it was my daily while I had my e36 bimmer.
The thing that sucks with the 12'-13' the mugen lip didnt fit because of the facelift. But Ive always been eyeing JDP Engineerings lip and wings. Just put an order for a duckbill for mine... still debating on if I want a lip considering my wife ocassionally drives my Fit since it gets better gas mileage.
Another option I thought about doing after seeing some old posts that people modified a S204 (STI) lip on their GEs.
the good hood deflector - back when the company was form fit they sold through honda canada dealers i'm told. Used to say fit on them, not sure if it still does. won some awards for their bits at a sema thing.you can check out jdp engineering for a front lip - i dunno how active that dude is.
oem honda mades some nice window deflectors or whatever they're called ~ I dont really dig that they lead rain back into the cab if the window is open beyond their drip edge, but the quality is good..
i think premium coilovers would come from ohlin or bilstein, but there are cheaper options and ones with more drop. can also look into doing a swap with crz oem suspension. cant recall if it was 100% direct, but it's been done, and parts for that can be found on ebay for cheeeap.
Yeah I almost gave up and was about to go to my 2nd option, but then he reached out and gave me a quote. It was going to be around $390 for the wing and $430 if I ordered a lip. As much as I want to add a lip I have to consider if its worth it since its at a high risk of getting beat up. There are cheaper options, but Ive always wanted this wing and I like how it utilizes the factory mounts so I could easily go back to my stock wing for whatever reason.
@NSC858 Be sure to post some pics!! I feel the same way about a lip. I'd need to wash my car before i did aesthetic mods but.. Was thinking about attempting the crz suspension swap. Think it drops either 1" or 1.5". Id prolly have to remove that little stock plastic deflector that attaches under the front bumper. And not ever share my car.. cuz that thing's already beat up from parking too close to curbs in parking lots.
@GoodJujuFit
There are a ton of good 15" wheel/tire combos but I decided on 17". If you look around the web there' s many fit owners using Enkei RPF1s on their fit. Not cheap, but damn good.
I am using the RPF1 17" w/ Falken tires, on BC coilovers lowered about 1.5 in. The only way to fit that much rubber is to modify the fender liners or roll the fenders to avoid rubbing, and mine still rubs the outside front on extreme downhill corners. Others may have better solutions. Here's a pic to get a look.
Best coilover is tough to say, everyone likes different things. My friend’s car is on Megan Racing coilovers and its fine. I’m installing HKS Hipermax coilovers on mine tomorrow and removing my Koni/Swift spring combo. Hopefully they’re a good fit for my purely street use.
Wheel sizing is tricky, some folks like 17s, I like 16s as a compromise, and I will run 15s in future years now that I drive my Fit extremely infrequently. My current wheel sizing is 16x7 +38 with 195/50/16. In the future I will run 15x7 +42 front, 15x7 +38 rear and 205/50/15. The car will be quite low to make that look good.
2012-13 Fit Sports can use Fit Shuttle front lip options or JDP as others have mentioned. I have a JDP lip sitting in my basement.
With stuff like this that’s so subjective, there are no ‘right’ answers, but there are wrong answers (Rev9 and maxpeeding rods)
