Unhappy 2009 Sport

Just bought a lovely little Fit with 69k on it. Everything works great so far except the calendar on the nav screen has the wrong month and year.
According to the manual these should be adjusted automatically via the satellite hookup, but it always says June 2004, which is odd since it's a 2009 car!
And I don't see any way to adjust it manually.
Help!

Usually there is going to be a small sensor looking device that will communicate with the satellite.

I know that in some vehicles this can have a simple battery which you can replace, other times you can get the module and replace it.

For this particular Honda fit, I'm not sure where it's located or how it communicates. It could be a module within the head unit or anywhere behind the dash.

You may have to replace the head unit or replace the module if you can find it.

Thanks for your thoughts.
I forgot mention that while the calendar month/year are wrong, the time seems to be working perfectly.
This would indicate that the satellite thing is working, yes?

One thing I attempted: in settings opening the calendar, then manually advancing it to the current month/year.
But it didn't "take" and the Home Screen went back to June 2004...

Its possible that the satellite link is actually working and there is a separate problem causing the issue with the month and year.

There is a few different ways to diagnose which may or may not be worth the effort and money.

You might be able to locate the part for the satellite link and replace it, which may require you to program it first.
You may also try to replace the battery in the satellite link if there is one present to begin with,
Another option is that you can buy a used head unit.
and finally, you could get an upgraded head unit with android auto/apple car play and touch screen controls. This would circumvent the issue altogether.

I hope that helps.

Thanks. Looking further online, it seems this has been an ongoing problem on many Honda models, not just the Fit.
And folks are blaming Honda for not updating the units so that they actually work.
