A running journal of db130's 2012 Fit Base 5AT

Hi, everyone.

I recently bought a 2012 Fit Base model from an auction. It caught my eye, because it was a 1-owner car with just 15,400 miles on it.

It's a bit of an oddball car, because the car has scratches all over, and it also has failing clearcoat on the roof. BUT, it still has that new car smell, and the undercarriage and interior condition is very good despite being a New York State car all its life.

The title has been lost in transit, so I haven't been able to register it under my name yet. In the meantime, I thought I'd post some pics from the auction, and use this thread to track the car's progress.

Here's how the car looked on the day it was delivered:

Here is one of the pictures from the auction:

The first order of business was the replacement of the TPMS sensors (3 out of 4 were dead):

I have an Autel TS508WF TPMS programming tool, so I ordered 4 new Autel TPMS sensors and used the clone by OBD feature to take the place of the old sensors with the same ID values:

To break the bead, I used a $90 bead breaker from Harbor Freight:

This was my first time popping the bead on car tires, so I took my time. It took me about 30 minutes per tire. Once I drove the car about a 1/4 mile, the TPMS warning light went out on its own:
