Can you turn VSA on/off?

Can you turn the VSA on/off in the 2009 Sport/Navi Fit? I know a lot of Acura's you can. Wondering if the Fit has that option too.

Are you involved in, lets say, 10 stunt driving antics every hour where VSA might come into play? Purely a layman's opinion but I'd doubt that VSA would affect the average driver's MPG much.

i'm by no means an expert, but i bet VSA cuts into gas mileage. i know for a fact 4WD vehicles get worse mileage than their 2WD versions, so if the car is constantly moving power around to different wheels, i bet it would cut into FE.

I can't imagine why VSA would affect your mpg, unless, as feddup so aptly put it, you're a stunt driver with ADD.

VSA is built on top of the ABS, and like ABS it only kicks in during specific situations such as during an emergency handling. During normal driving it utilizes only the sensors for monitoring, and sensors are electronics so they shouldn't use gas. In the rare situation where the sensors detects an emergency manuvering, it will then impact the breaking mechanism, thereby using a bit of gas just like normal breaking would.

lol you guys are funny, VSA wasting MPG... VSA does nothing until you start to skid or spin your tires. Kinda like how ABS does nothing til you start to lock up your tires.

Yeah, it has a button to left of the steering wheel with all the little boxes

Correct, just make sure to hold it down for 3 seconds. You'll hear a beep and see the "VSA" light on your dash. Hold for 3 seconds to turn back on.

This is the second time I've encountered this idea in a month. Who the heck says that?
