What's with the horn, man?

Every time I hear the horn on these things, I can't help but let out this little "meep" out of my mouth, almost like a reflex.

What do you all think about it (the horn, not the reflex)?

Many people have changed out their horns- use the "search" button......
Also, check out Wolo "Bad Boy" horns, loud and not expensive- $20-30.00.

I got the Hella horns. They are ****ing loud and will vibrate the frame of your car. I had people jump from their seats when I honk >:]

I have not heard the horn in the '09 but from what is described it sounds like a similar horn to what was in my '90 Corrola. After being unheard, unseen and almost hit by multiple large trucks I decided it was time for an upgrade.

Super simple, super cheap: First, find out what type of connection the current horn has. The, go to your local Auto Wrecker and find a large truck with similar connection. Rip it out, pay your 5 bucks and slap it the Fit. Presto! Instant horn up grade.

I want to change my 09 horn but I don't want a loud truck horn. If I can take say an 08 Accord or RSX duel note horn that would be great. I don't have experience in taking off bumpers and dealing with electronics, so if someone here who has done a horn change on a Fit, please chime in.

I actually prefer the Fit's horn over the Civic's horn. ^_^

Reminds me of a video I saw...

Kevin,
The eBay vendor in your link is ONE source, but that one appears to be used. Look at the Wolo web site- many choices within the price range that I posted. You can buy Wolo horns at Discount Hunting Gear, Discount Hunting Boots, Discount Shoes, Discount Ammunition, Discount Ammo, Discount Boots, Military Surplus, Outdoor Gear At the Sportsman's Guide, jcwhitney.com, and many other retailers.

Another member mentioned Hella horns- another good choice. But how loud is loud? You can't know until you hear it on your car. Whatever you buy you won't be risking much money, but you will be risking some- you might not like the noise level if you pick wrong.

Taking off the bumper is no big deal- it's easy (at least from the perspective of a USDM 1st. gen. owner). Again, use "search" to find that on 1st. gen. Fits, it is easier to remove the passenger side fog light to get to the stock horn for R&R. Wolo and Hella have a hot lead and ground lead. If the new horn does not have matching connectors, just splice in the new wires.

LOL! The horn on the Fit is just on the wimpy side. I hate to blow it all because no one will even notice.

Actually, I like it. It's just like a Ferrari 355's horn. I would buy it from you but I have to do some research first.
