Question Florida '09 Fits - What did you pay?

I've put down my (refundable) deposit and thought I got a decent deal, but I'd like to compare...

Fit Auto Sport
$17,580 (MSRP)
$599.95 Dealer Service Fee
+ taxes, tags/reg

Had "premium" mats and 2 oil changes thrown in.

...the dealer has assigned the Orange Rev to me, but I can change to another colour if I don't like it - no problem.

I've read that the FL dealers are in cahoots about their dealer's fee and won't budge. I went to several dealers and this was the case at all of them. Anyone have similar or better experiences in Florida?

Niko,

Did you pay a Dealer Fee and MSRP?

Good luck with the new Fit!

Yeah... well I followed up on the Costco program and the dealer here said he'd do me one better and give me the fleet price - MSRP and no dealer's fee. I called the dealer I put my refundable deposit down with to see if they can meet that (no dealer's fee). It's been a few hours so I'll call soon to check in and see if they can do it, otherwise I'm moving on.

I'm here in FL as well looking for a sport/auto. Honda dealers in FL, for the most part, are a bunch of crooks. $599 is standard...one today wanted $699 doc fee + a $670 dealer fee (recharging the destination fee!)... $20,830 OTD. Offered $19,100 OTD and was told to move along.

Looks like I might have a deal for $19,300 OTD and take delivery next week, but I'm waiting to hear back from the sales guy. $599 dealer fee is killing me on this, wanted to be at $19k or lower

Oh I know! The original dealer now knocked $300 off the price to compete w/ the fleet price of Sherwood Honda in Delray Beach which had no dealer's fee. I'm also getting mats and 2 oil changes. The orange is supposed to come in around Friday, so if I like the colour I'll take the deal. I don't want to wait longer if I don't have to! If I don't like it, I'll have to think about the price...

Tampa's further away but you could get a quote from Sherwood and shop your local dealers with it. I spoke to Pete over the phone and was inquiring about the Costco Auto program... he threw the fleet price on the table without me asking!

The double destination fee is BS... you know it, call them out on it!

Trust me I did...sales guy was like, hm, I honestly don't know what that is. BS. Just happens to be the same as the Honda destination fee? Right. Looks like I'm driving over to the other coast though next week depending on if the sales guy confirms $19,300...that's what he offered me (based on 3 other ones he sold at that price) so I'm sure I'll have one. Good luck to you...didn't like the orange, it was too brown...not yellowish like they have in the pictures.

Hope you find the price you're after!

How similar was the new orange to the old? I had a sales guy tell me it would look like a car on his lot... it was reddish-burgundy! HA!! I kept saying to my bf, "am I blind I don't see an orange car...". Never trust a salesperson.

man those fees of $599 or $670 or even $699 for Documentary Fees is totally insane- when you compare the same fees in the Los Angeles Area
of $55.00

granted different county and state- but no way- paperwork costs that much

if they were going to charge me that- i would ask for at least "3" oil changes and a free recommended manufacturer minor or major service

The one dealership was $1,600 just in fees..then $1200 in tax.

The orange i believe is the same orange as other cars...I did see the blue in person today, very nice, not as bright as the pictures...but I still like it.

I payed MSRP at Regal honda in Lakeland - - great experience, ask for
Patty Olson in internet sales.

I talked with Hondaland, Brandon, and Wesley Chapel, they all wanted market adjustment - - what a joke.

Just sent a request via their website for a blue automatic sport they show in stock or arriving soon... put my required OTD price, we'll see if they respond. Thanks for the referral!

Update: they met my price OTD, just gotta see when it is in stock or if they can trade for a blue auto sport

Unfortunately they didn't have blue, and could not get one for about 2 weeks. I actually put down a deposit on a blue one that I'm picking up in the Orlando area this evening for $19,046 OTD.
