How do I go into long mode?

I know this is a stupid question, but I have been pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to make long mode happen. I can fold the rear seats flat, and I can put them in tall mode, but I can't seem to make the front seat fold flat like they show. How do I do it?

For the record, '09 Fit Sport MT w/out Navi. Crystal Black.

I'll assume you are talking about "refresh" mode, where you can lay down in the car. All indications suggest that this feature was discontinued on the USDM 2009 Fit.
If it is there you could do it as is shown at the end of this vid: Hondabƒ}ƒjƒ…ƒAƒ‹bƒtƒBƒbƒg_Žæˆµà–¾DVDƒrƒfƒI

Try removing the pax headrest, and moving pax seat all the way forward before leaning it back.

Yeah, you can do refresh mode as shown in the video. Notice that the front seat doesn't sit flush with the back seat, it actually sticks up 4" or so, so it's not really refresh mode anyway. For long mode, you just lay the back seat down flat, then scoot the front seat forward all the way, and then tilt it back all the way, and you leave the headrest on.

I think he means long mode where the front passenger folds flat to the front and you are suppose to be able to carry a surf board. I was wondering the same thing myself.

That last sentence of my post is how you do long mode. Here's a pic for reference, it's easy to see how to do it from the pic.

Ah, ok. It's hard to see what's going on on the website that shows the configurations. I kept trying to fold the seat forward and it wasn't happening. That makes more sense. Thanks!

Will you be able to fit an 8-foot long lumber (say 2x4) in the long mode w/ the hatch door closed?

yes they DO! i couldn't figure out the "refresh mode" due to my lack of realization that the rear seats "move back slightly"

I tried long/refresh mode whatever you want to call it today and I could get the front passenger seat to recline back pretty good but not flush with the rear seats, is it possible to get them to be flush?

Do you just mean reclining the back seats? Because they are reclined and it won't work. Or how am I supposed to do it? I'll take a picture if I need to.

I tried it at the dealership, and it just didn't happen. I had the back seats reclined back, and I even tried doing it by putting the back seat in tall mode first, the lowering it after the front seat was already down, no dice. The front seats are just too tall now.
