It's heeeeeeere....
It's heeeeeeere....
Okay, red Sport AT showed up yesterday, at last. Picked it up and have about 1C miles on it; gauge shows 36.5 for mixed urban and surface road running. Headlights aren't bad, tho' I'll probably raise 'em a bit. Handling is dandy; even my bride couldn't bitch too much after buzzing some turns on the way back from dinner. She gets to thinking she's Junior E when she drives her Passat.
Seems fairly peppy as well, tho' I'm staying off the loud pedal as much as possible 'till the engine loosens up.
We had most of this figured out from some extensive test drives, (got to try gen I & II) but it is still different with OUR car in the garage.
Nice to have the car at last; I was starting to feel like the kids on the Jeep forum who don't actually HAVE a Jeep, but they do have a picture of one inside their eighth grade locker....

I dunno; does an NRA sticker on the back bumper count?
Acutally, I've fiddled a little with the Rubicon with E code lights and a wirearound on the lockers, but the Fit is meant as basic transportation, gas savings, and to keep the miles off the Heep, which is now at 68K. Probably won't change much; maybe an armrest and some bump strips; practical stuff. I did get all weather mats from Berardi.
I'm a technodunce and can't post pics at this point. It does look a great deal like the red Fit on the Honda website...
My bride and I took the little bugger for a ride this afternoon to admire the Westsylvania autumn, and I really do like it. You can feel some of the same DNA as my long-departed CRX Si....
Of course, gas has dropped by 25%, but what the hell; not like the Fit isn't real transportation.
I saw David Crosby on the PA turnpike (okay, it at least LOOKED like Cros) in a Smart For2...I wouldn't be out among the 18 wheelers in that..
Best,
Moon

i bought a pair of Xenon nokya arctic white 7000k headlights and Xenon nokya arctic white 7000k fog lights. the reason why i picked 7000k was that it wasn't too blue [has a hint of it] and was still bright. I noticed that the signs and lines were so much brighter and brought out its true colors, i have been gettin drivers that flashed thier beams at me [means they think i have my high beams on] but its not so. was very easy to install and its reliable. had it for about 4 months i belive, works great. One thing im not sure about though is either its HID [high intensity something] or not. what the difference is idk. bought mine at automotivelightingusa.com loved it very much
I cant remeber what the number is but i do know that the "wattage draw" is the same, but the output is 5 or 10 more. for example, it looks like a 90 watt, but its only takin 80 watts to produce it? ya kno? BTW, wattage has nothing to do with the color, its the K. and no, no issues with the wiring or alignment or light reflectors. One thing in advnace tho, your fingers, never touch the glass part, the oil on your fingers are transfered to the glass and heats up n bursts, yea dont want that lol, just dont let the glass part touch your fingers and it will be all good.
Thnx, RB-
Knew some of that; I'm a 30-year veteran of fooling with car lights. Sounds like you don't actually have HID lights, but uprated (different color) halogens...if you don't have ballasts, you don't have HID.
I'm reasonably happy with the OEM lights, but I may 'speriment with some uprated bulbs; don't want a weird color, but dead white is useful.
Anyway, the info was useful, and thanks again.
