does 09 Fit come with a spare tire?

Someone told me it doesn't have one.

If true, has anyone had problems cause of this, getting a flat and cursing the fact you have no spare?

US has a spare tire. There were initial rumors that it wouldn't, but it does.

As far as I know the manual trans cars all come with a space saver spare and the autos come with a can of instant tire repair with no spare...

This is true for Canada. Though I hear you can purchase a spare for automatic if you want.

All U.S. Fits come with the spare.

Only Canadian 2009s with AT get the air pump and repair kit.

Iam wondering how this repair kit works? Do you prefer it to having a spare? It would be great to have that little extra storage space if the kit does the job (since you have to get a new tire asap anyways) Any negatives? Thanks!

I sort of agree. If I'm running on winter tires, and I get a flat, I have to run home that night, and get the tire fixed/replaced, or else it will snow that night just to spite me.

I'm curious, how long does the Honda "fix" last before you have to have to remove the tire and permanently fix or replace it? If it lasts for a while, it might be real nice to have for long distance trips.

According to the owner's manual (pages 291-297 here in the left column under free resources: https://techinfo.honda.com/rjanisis/logon.asp), repairing the tire with the kit is not as straightforward and is not permanent. After the fix, you have to drive on it for 5 minutes, check the pressure and if ok, drive another 5 minutes, check again and then if ok, you're good to go. Otherwise, it says you need to call for a tow. It's a temporary fix and recommends getting a permanent repair job done ASAP. Maximum speed is 50 mph or 80 km/h.

Not having a spare doesn't really bother me that much because a flat tire is a very rare occurrence, and I run one of my other cars without a spare or any other means to deal with a flat except a cell phone.

I suppose it's a risk, but it's not that different than breaking a belt or losing a fuel pump relay. I could carry spare parts and the tools to fix it on the side of the road, or I could call for a tow if I don't have those parts and tools with me.

I yanked the spare, jack and tools from there and placed a fix a flat in that well. This is, once you load anything heavy in the cargo tray it kinda droops because the spare functions as a support.

So guess what? I put the spare et al back and returned the fix a flat.

For those worrying about the auto's lack of a spare , don't forget
that you get 3 years roadside assistance from Honda with your
car's purchase ( here in Can. any ways )

I just thought of a negative of not having a spare. I rotate my own tires and I use the spare to hold up the car while I rotate the tries from front to back (because I need the jack to hold up the other corner).

Also for those with the auto trans/repair kit. Do you still get a scissor jack? Thanks!

Nope, there's no jack. But look at what the tool kit includes.

I have a US 2009 Sport with a spare. Anyone know how I can get the foam insert that fills the spare tire well? Don't need the tools or spare tire repair kit.

Fix a Flat is bad stuff. It will end up eating the inside of the tire if not completely cleaned out which will be a pain. Oh and I want!!
