Australian Jazz Options & Info

After surfing the info on the Honda UK site I headed over to their Australian site (honda.com.au) and found the following accy/options page:

Honda Jazz Optional Extras

NOTE the Bluetooth module that mounts on the a-pillar and integrates with the radio (that said I have a US spec Navi which is probably not compatible with it - that and I like the UK version's steering wheel mounted controls much better).

The body colored sports grille is new to me as well.

I've got the unit installed in my Jazz, its a plug-in module that intergrates bluetooth into the factory head unit (sound comes from the front left speaker when in a call)

The unit costs around $450 Australian, there is 2 parts to it, the unit which installs to the pillar which is a standard unit on all Hondas, and a specific wiring kit thats different for each model.

I was pretty cut the USB/Ipod adapter wasn't available here but I was very fortunate to have the adapter sent from the states and what do you know, it plugs straight in and works perfectly.

Thanks for the post. Interesting to note that the Australian Jazz gets a few extra goodies, such as steering wheel mounted audio controls, which I believe should be standard on all US Fit Sport models. Also, they get the Alibaster Silver, which we don't get here in the States, as well as yellow. Their accessories are also different (e.g., door sills), so I'm curious as to whether any will migrate to the US.

I noticed the AUS 1.3 Auto has about the same fuel mileage as the 1.5 Auto, but the 1.3 Manual fuel mileage and CO emmisions is much better than that for the 1.5 Manual. Suspect the 1.3 gets different 5 speed manual gear set...????

That's pretty much what I am looking for once I can confirm it will integrate with my US spec navi audio harness.

Interestingly I see this same unit as an option over on the Honda UK site for the previous model Jazz as well as what appears to be a slighly different unit for the new Jazz that has steering wheel mounted call controls. They mention it as an option when you "build an '09 Jazz" on the UK website but they don't show a specific picture of it in that area.

In the '09 Jazz pdf brochure there APPEAR to be steering wheel mounted call controls (down low - below the cruise control buttons) - which would make it slightly different than the previous version.

The investigation continues.....

On a second reading of the UK brochure it looks like I was wrong on their being a new version of the Bluetooth controller with steering wheel mounted call controls for the '09 European Jazz....according to the brochure those are controls are for the info display as their version has more functionality (of course....)

I started a new thread just on the bluetooth issue. Forget the AUS version as its setup for RHD.....the Euro module looks to be identical and it IS available in a LHD version....here is the info from the other post - although keep in mind these part numbers are for the '08 Jazz/Fit in Europe - they may update in a few weeks when they get their new '09 Jazz (although the controller looks to be the same).

Once the '09 ships in Europe I am probably going to order one from a Euro Honda dealer and give it a shot. Checking with one now to see if they think it will be compatible with our nav unit. They offer a nav unti in the Fit in Europe but its NOT just our unit with different maps - its a different head unit (as well as they have a compact unit and a larger in-dash unit).

My two cents would be to wait until the '09 Jazz ships in Europe and insure that the part numbers are the same and then order a LHD drive unit up from either a UK dealer who can get one or a Honda dealer in continental Europe who would normally have the LHD version. I just want to make sure I can get a LHD module with English install instructions.

www.honda-access.com/dk/da/Images/50278.pdf

Part Numbers:

LHD "Kit": 08BLU-SAA-600

The "Kit" SKU consists of two parts:

08E00-EW2-602 Bluetooth Base Kit
08E02-SAA-600A LHD Bluetooth Attachment Kit

You know, a number of us are interested in a trailer hitch for the US 2009 Honda Fit.

Looks like there is a "tow bar" option for the Jazz. Is that a complete trailer hitch?

Dave - as I look at the picture of it and read the description it looks like its complete except for the ball which has to be purchased separately. Says max capacity is 1000kg for a trailer with brakes and 450kg for one without. "Downball force" (which must be Aussie for tongue weight) is 70kg.

Why couldn't we get amber lighting with digital temperature display and button controls for AC rather than knobs! It looks so much more sexy!
