Question Bridgestone or Dunlop

I was just reading the posts regarding tire replacement and someone mentioned they had Dunlop, while someone else had Bridgestone.

When I first saw and test drove an '09 Fit Sport, I noticed it had Dunlop tires. It did not have VSA/NAV. I just got my '09 on October 16th. It's a BSP AT Sport with NAV/VSA and it has Bridgestone tires.

With so many Fit Freaks out there maybe we can figure out if Bridgestones were also 'bundled' with the VSA like the NAV?

Post your car configuration and tire type and lets see if we can draw any conclusions.

I have to add: No matter what we 'roll' on the Fit rocks!!

Good idea, maybe turn this into a Poll if its not too late? (i.e. Dunlop/VSA, Dunlop/no VSA, Bridgestone/VSA, or Bridgestone/No VSA)

Dunlops - No VSA/Nav (AT & CBP if that matters), build date was 8/28.

Bridgestone EL470, SSM Sport AT, non-navi

Edit: maybe has to do with Manuf. date? 8/8/08 here.

Nothing conclusive yet - build date? Maybe that's it.

Sport AT w/ NAV/VSA - Bridgestone - September 15.

Don't think so ... mine was 8/28, right between you two, and I have Dunlops.

How about port of entry? (National City/San Diego for me, and CrystalFiveMT I'm sure)

The VIN will tell you the month (I forget the position, but there is a thread on VIN de-coding around here). The actual build date is something that your dealer would've known -- I don't think you can find out any other way.

Since you and TWGE08 are SoCal owners and have Bridgestones, it can't be port of entry since I'm sure yours came through National City too. Maybe it's just random based on what was available on any particular day

I forgot to ask for my window sticker since I was so pissed about the salespeople jerking me around with my trade, but I assume it came from S. Diego.

You guys are trying to make sense of a random event. Manufacturers often use more than one tire brand of the same size, there's no rhyme or reason to it.

It would be nice to know which tire does better in the field.
