Usb Driving me nuts!

Hi, I have an 09 Fit Sport. When I first got it I was able to play both my wife's ipod nano, and mine. Then, it stopped working. Took it to the dealer, they told me they had 2 ipods working no problem. Still cant get it to fire up mine. I tried a Kingston 4GB flash drive, didnt work. I also tried a Wester Digital 250 GB external drive. Didnt work. It wont even power up any of my devices. What am i doing wrong? Doesnt have navigation. Thanks!

the kingston flash drive should work right away as its the most basic device (assuming its formatted and has playable songs)

Also try updating your ipod to the newest firmware.

You did push AUX, right?
Don't mean to be insulting but just covering the basics.

My 16gb Patriot drive works amazingly.

Yah, followed all the steps. When pushing aux, nothing happens. To me it seems like it stopped getting power. I ve been using the aux jack for my ipod, but just on principle want a new car's features to work.

I used my gfs ipod not long after I got the car and it worked flawlessly. I read on here people complaining and I thought it was nice to not have problems. I went and bought a flash drive and that also works great. Recently we tried her ipod and it worked for a while and then it started saying that it was not a supported device. It is getting power because it shows it is charging but for some reason it still didn't work. Of course she left it in the car over a cold night and I am thinking that could have something to do with it until it warmed up. I have no idea though. I hope we figure it out soon.

if it doesn't even power it up then something is wrong.
take it to the dealer so they can fix it.
sounds like the converter unit died or power was lost to it
from the head unit.
here is a pic of the unit under the head unit

Well, after reading all of your responses, it got me thinking. The dealer guys only looked at the AUX input. Of course that one works. They told me they were unaware that the 09 Fit had that ipod connection in the glove box. Amazing. I guess I won't assume anymore that they listen and or know all about their vehicles. I'm going to print out Niko's response and take it with me, his picture is probably better than any knowledge they have. Thanks for all your time, and I'll let you guys know what happens so if anyone else has this issue they can fix it.

USB device does not function

Hey your dealer has a service bulletin called "USB device does not function" which covers troubleshooting. He can look it up on the Honda IN. Shows all connections.
