And here I thought that you were getting hit on by a lady because of your new fit....needless to say, I'm a little disappointed with the story :P

I got it pretty often in parking lots and gas stations with my GD3.
I still get in once in while, usually from owners of larger domestic vehicles where the fuel efficiency isn't helping to make ends meet nowadays.

Seems like you can't even give a 1/2 ton pickup/SUV away these days.

Anyway, now that the new Fits are popping up I'm happy to get out of the limelight. Us GD3 owners are the originators but it's time for the new kids to show their stuff.

We're still awesome though. Always.

I have been asked by at least 5 people if my FIT is a hybrid. LOL.
I get asked a lot about it, everywhere I go.

I had to go up to the hospital to pick up some inserts since our doctor is retiring and hosting an open house. I parked in the front circle and came out putting the box in the back of the Fit. I got in the car and some man who had just put his wife into their Lincoln came back and motioned for me to lower my window. I put the window down and he said I really like your car what is it? I turned off the engine and got out and gave him the look over of the car and he asked if it was a hybrid. That is a common questions. He had to be in his 70's and said he was thinking of down sizing his car because of the gas prices and he could not believe it got 39 mpg. He asked if the racing pedals were standard and I said no I had been moding the car since I got it. While I was showing him the hatch area the doctor I work for walked up. He thought I had just bought the car and I said no I've had it since May 2007. I do have to say it was nice when the gas got down to $2.15 a gallon I was not one of those folks sitting in line for an hour to get filled up. I filled up last weekend and will not need to fill up until next weekend.

I was out washing my car yesterday when the neighborhood "nutjob" stopped his van in front of my house. Now, normally this would not be a good thing. He is notorious for turning people into the city for code violations. He said "hey, that's quite a nice looking car there. What is it?" I told him it was a Honda Fit and explained about the roominess, fuel economy, fun to drive etc. He said he was looking for a replacement for his ailing van and that might be perfect. He said he was in a hurry, but when he had some time he would like to see the interior and features.

I made a new (gulp) friend, and I don't have to worry about getting turned in if I leave my trash recepticles out

Get used to it. This will continue to happen to you so long as gas prices stay on the expensive side. That being said, agreed that it sure feels good to get in and out of a gas station for about $22.
