PRM Intake *UPDATED*

So I just went up to PRM today and got the Intake installed looks good!!!
I love where the filter sits, it's a lot lower then the GD3's and looks very clean especially since it's all fabricated by Gerry himself.

My initial butt dyno says there's a bit of mid RPM torque, feels better going up hill so it's good stuff especially since the car lacks power

I won't know how accurate my butt dyno is so gotta wait for the dyno session next week so I'll keep everyone posted and I'll take some pics tmr when it's brighter outside

Alright Updated here's the Dyno chart

Here's the actual size

Here's a video at the Dyno
YouTube - 09 Fit Dyno.avi

Conclusion
6HP gain and 4Torque gain sounds aggressive and I would say definitely worth the investment getting 6% HP increase

Thanks for the great news! Please tell Gerry for me that he has an order for a blue intake just sitting in California, waiting for availability of the first production run. Never mind, I'll tell him myself.

I PM'd my pre-order for the GE8 version of the PRM intake. Gerry says it will only be about 2 weeks before these are ready to sell/ship. Crappy economy hell- MY Fit's Christmas will be good!

Thanks Gerry!!!!

i got on the prm website to take a look at this intake, and i think i'd rather wait for somthing a little better. it looks like someone took metal tubing and a vaccum hose and made a intake, i.e. it's wack!

You just described all Short Ram intakes, and most cold air intakes. Please wait for something better. You'll stay stock forever.

I'd like to know if there is a difference in fuel economy.

In theory there should be...if your car is breathing better, it runs more efficient...

Look for Gerry's new thread- Group Buy is coming immediately. Watch the PRM page in the Marketplace section.

For California buyers-- unless some intake maker finally gets their product passed by CARB and gets the CARB Exempt sticker for you to display under your hood, you will have to replace the stock intake every time you go in for Smog Inspection. I bought one of the Group Buy original PRM intakes for my '07 Sport. Used it 3 weeks, then totaled it in a crash. It took 1 minute to get the PRM off at the wrecking yard, and throw the stock intake under the hood to satisfy my insurance company that all stock parts were on the car.

I sold the PRM to another fitfreak friend, and so have the money to buy the new version PRM intake.

Try taking off any chamber, most SRI's, or any cold air intake in one minute.

How is the sound / noise level on this intake? I'm looking for something quiet, that will add a few HP and improve fuel economy slightly.

I don't mind a little extra noise, but if it's loud, I'll pass.

It was not loud on my '07. A little quieter than the K&N SRI that the PRM replaced. But what is loud to you may be different from my perceptions. All after-market intakes will be a little noisier than stock.
