S-Mode Problem??????

all of a sudden today when i put the car into S-mode (from a dead stop or otherwise), the car acts as if it's still in drive (it automatically transitions from 1st to 5th gear).
once i click the paddle shifter, S-mode then works. btw, in S-mode the M display does not appear until i click the paddle.

anyone else experience this?

That's exactly how it's supposed to work.

well. now i read the owner's manual.... and it describes what i described above as normal.

but in the first 6 weeks that ive had the car, when i put it in S-mode (from a stop), the car immediately goes into S-mode, without touching the paddle shifters. and the M display is lit.

wtf.

Experienced something similar; may be that the car was moving when the OP selected 'S', but if you engage it when stopped, you have to enable it with a paddle push.
I'll try it next time out.
