Base fit headlight pic

Does any have any up close pics of the base fit headlights? I know there supposed to be gray in color instead of the chrome.

I think Honda got it backwards. The chrome headlamps look like crap and attract bird droppings because the chrome reflects the morning sun. They should have been standard lights on the base car, and the blacked out version available only on the "sportier" Sport. I can't imagine they'd be any more expensive to produce.

Do you guys in PR get a different base model than the US?

Might want to check out the USDM base headlights in person, the ones I saw didn't look nearly as good as the picture above. The base lamps I saw were a lighter, flat grey. The ones in the pic above look like a darker, almost gunmetal color. Might just be the lighting too in the pic.

I wanted to trade my sport lamps for a set of base lamps, but after seeing them in person, I decided against it. Might just bake, crack, and spray mine instead.

TWGE08, I have the base Taffeta White. When I was looking for images, you're right, it is VERY hard to find stock photos of the base model. But I found a site that made me very happy, because they have two set of images of the FIT. A white base model and a red sport. Same images taken for each car, so you can get a feel for the differences. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did:

The only other place that you can get an inkling is to go to the Honda site and "Build your Honda" choosing the base model and the color of white.

And yes, I do prefer the base model smoky headlamps.

The only thing I like about the base model is the mud flaps. For some reason... they are my thing. I even got em on my DSM, which alot of people think is ridiculous.

Also, check this thread for the smoked tail lamps:

And in Australia, they have the mirror covers:

I still have to get some installed! BEFORE it's all rainy.

Wait! Does this mean you don't like my styling wheel covers?

It's a new fad.

Everyone will upgrade their Sport to look just like the base models!

But they still won't get the MPG!

I did like what I saw on the Jazz site in Australia. Most things were available to add to models:

Be sure to look at their head lamps, which appear to be a combination of chrome (near the main head light) and smoky gray:

I like the sport model but $3000 means much for me, so I got the base and customize in the future
btw.......... my best mpg is 40.7 average

The money and the gas mileage mean a lot to me. For the amount I drive, the extra gas mileage and the money that could have been spent on the Sport will pay for my gas for YEARS! Also, there is a savings on the insurance with the base model. More money gets to stay in my pocket. Or in my savings accounts, accruing interest!

For ME, the base in the white was the BEST car for me. Everyone has needs and wants and preferences. Each car buyer makes the decision as to what is best for THEM, not what is best for me. LOL! Because they aren't buying the car for me.

And all the optional accessories are available to personalize. Remembering they ARE options and that I wouldn't have had to buy a custom steering wheel because my car didn't come with one. The car comes ready to go. And anyone can add on at any time in the future.
