Cargo light upgrade
#3
is the new cargo light a lot brighter than the stock one? i'd like to replace the stock light w/ a brighter one. the cargo light only lits up the left side and it's so dim. i really wish they have 2 cargo lights - the extra one on the right hand side too.

I'm interested in this part/mod as well. Is this part available on any USDM Acura/Honda models or is it only a foreign part? A search for the part number in the pic above at College Hills and Honda Parts Now didn't come up with anything.
If not I'll order via JDM_DOHC_SiR.

you can get it from here if you want.Acura Parts & Genuine Acura OEM Parts | Acura Body Parts @AcuraOEMparts.com

They're a nickel shy of $20 with the high shipping and handling.
I'm pretty sure this part is available special order through any Acura/Honda dealer in the states.
I want the switch because it allows me to keep the hatch open long periods without killing the little battery.

yeah, it happened to me too once but hte car was ok. that time it was an "accident" i still want to get hte switch though, so i can intentionally leave the hutch door open for a long time.

Which bulb would make it brighter. This might be a solution, instead of installing another cargo light.
Nice job Nick!!! I will be doing this mod as well, already got the part just waiting for the car, next weeeeeek...

got my part and installed it today!
Thanks to Niko giving us the heads up on this neat mod. I went to a local Acura dealership here in San Diego, and ordered the part yesterday. It arrived today, and was installed within 5 minutes. After you gently pry out the original cargo light/lens you just pretty much do a swap. The part cost me $16.31 after tax, and about a 24hr wait. I put in one of those 12 led bulbs since I was switching everything out anyways. Nice and bright back there, with an "off" option.

now is the tricky part. you will need a dremel and a cut off disc
for this.
okay remember the old light we took off. the one with out the switch.
hold on to it cause we will be using it.
take the light and place it centered on the back of the lid of the
cover. then trace it with a magic marker.
now get you dremel and cut it out. should look like this.
cut a little at a time to get it to fit perfectly.
should look like this when done.
