Honda Fit 2009 GE8: How to Install JDM Emblems
Just to add my two cents here. An easy way to remove the rear emblem without damaging it is like I said in another thread... just take a putty knife wrap it with a paper towel (so you don't scuff up the black on the hatch) slide the putty knife behind the emblem until its touching the stud. Then take a rubber mallet and tap on the stud and it breaks right off (just plastic). Then just pull the emblem right off. This way you don't damage the emblem and don't damage the door. If you ever want to reuse the stock emblem just glue back on or use emblem double sided tape to reapply.
it says that once you lay it down, the emblem will contour to the bend...but when i did mine today, i put a thin layer of 3m industrial double side tape on the bottom 1/4 to compensate so the emblem isn't under so much tension when bent into that position.
Ok guys...I got out to test and install my emblems.
Front went fine...
Rear, I noticed was a little smaller--so I checked the part number
mine was 75701-S6M-Z01
I called icbmotorsport (where I purchased from) and he said he's been shipping tons out for the GE with that part number with no problems.
Has anyone else used that part number instead of the other number that the OP posted?
He is being very nice and I am returning the rear emblem for the correct number...Rear Type-R badge - 75700-S5T-E01

Got my new emblem from icbmotorsport.com / jdmland.com and they were true to their promise in making it right with me--they now are going to start sending the part number 75700-S5T-E01 for the GE8 Fits.
Yay for those guys.

Thanks!
That method should work. An even safer way, IMO, is to use dental floss and slowly work it behind the emblem. If you want to speed the process up, use a hair dryer to loosen the adhesive.
I have removed stickers on my Yamaha Vino with a hairdryer and it worked like a charm. The dental floss method sounds like a great idea for removing the emblem.
Will the adhesive on the back of the blue dot emblem be sufficient to stick to the car or do I need to add more adhesive?
I am also adding a Jazz emblem on the right side.
Thanks!!

Unable to take off the original emblem?

You'll want to take your pliers/clippers and clip off the ends of the emblem. Just feel around and take your time. I made sure to line the edge of the clippers up to the base of the grommet, then clip the ends. Then you just gently pry the emblem towards you and it should break free. You may hear the sound of the grommets falling off as well. Find them if you can and put them aside with the emblem.[/IMG]

Here's an important tip for the rear red H badge...
pre-bend the badge, do the bending gradually until you get the exact contour of the rear emblem garnish surface... do this and your H badge will sit nicely and flushed.
also... heat gun or hair dryer would help alot on bending
