Look What I Made!

This was kind of a big deal for me too (sadly) because I don't do stuff like this. haha...anyway, just went out and bought a piece of 1/2" MDF board, cut it to fit. Cut a hole in the OEM Trunk Tray, and mounted the Yakima Fork Mount in the hole. Drilled and mounted the bolts through the board. Voila! I was amazed at how much space I could squeeze outta this little car. I'm not small either. I ride a 56cm Frame and I didn't even have to lower the seatpost!!! on Top of that, I can actually rotate the non-drve side crank arm all the forward and have the back right passenger seat still fold Up!!!! I can still carry 2 additional passengers!! OMG..I love this CAR!!!!!!!!!!

That looks really good. I like that you can still have a passenger in the back. Too bad you cannot fit two bikes in the back like that.

Thanks for sharing your work. We've been thinking about ways to haul our bikes. Nice work!

Wow...that is pretty cool. My friend lives at the beach near LAX and I fit two specialized roadbikes and a Dahon foldable bike in my car and also managed to fit 2 additional passengers too! Driver + 2 passengers + 3 bikes! I do love the versatility of this car as well!

That is very nice. Once I can afford a road bike I might PM you with a few questions.

Your bike costs 1/3 of what the fit does. S-works is good shit. My uncle used to work for specialized, talk about a good hookup to have. Looks nice tho, I wouldn't mount an S-works to my roof rack anyway, someone would jack it in a hurry.

Nice job!! Keeping ur bike inside the trunk would be better than having a bike rack installed on the roof. It'll prolly be better for the mpg as well.

+1 Rep

Nice job. One of the main reasons why I purchased the Fit was to be able to transport my mountain bike without the use of a bike rack.
