Congrats and welcome to you and your wife.

You have to be a Honda Tech member to view the pictures. Then when you're on there you have the inconvenience of having to click on the links to view the pictures. If you're gonna be a Fitfreak, you do it OUR WAY!!!! Moohaha, jk. Use photobucket.com and then click this to paste the link.

Based on this last picture it looks like your NHBP already has some swirl marks from the dealer. Nothing a little wax shouldn't fix

I have no idea, but here's what I think.

Honda Paints the cars fresh at the factory. Then in between Japan and the US the car gets dirty. The dealers get the car and prep it to sell to you. All it takes is one dirty sponge and one bad wash to get swirls all over the car (especially a black one). The dealer doesn't detail it for you before delivery, so you're stuck with a brand new swirly Fit. My Civic was black, which is why I chose Silver for my Fit. More forgiving.

Are you familiar with detailing?

We can't see those pics. Use photobucket.com and post them here.

I'm afraid the dealership caused those swirls. I took my car home with the plastic on it, I refuse to ever let them wash my car. I'm afraid wax won't get rid of them as it has no abrasives, at best it will fill them in and hide it but won't remove them. You'll need to have the car polished. Swirls are literally hundreds of tiny scratches in the clear coat.
I put a huge sign on my steering wheel saying "DO NOT WASH" when I take my car in for maintenance. Black shows swirls the most and honda paint is extremely soft and swirls easily if washed uncorrectly (1 bucket, old sponge, drying with an absorber or bath towel etc...)

Any detailer should be able to remove them for relatively cheap.

Ahhhh that's right. They changed it. My mistake. CBP it is then.
