Why no one on here has JDM Headlights???

Looked at some JDM Fit pictures, and looks like they are dark housing on the inside.

I am going on a Trip to JDM Land in June/July (wife is from there) so I am thinking about stopping by the Honda Dealer there to pick me up a set.

Just wondering why no one here has have them on their cars? Do they not fit correctly without a JDM bumper? cause they look nearly identical in shape to the US ones.

As far as US DOT Legality issues, I have been running JDM type R HID headlights with no amber side markers for years on my GSR without issues or being pulled over.

Everything is different comparing real life to pictures. Pictures yes, they look the same, but the fact of the matter is they aren't. You would need to do the whole front coversion in order to run the headlights.

And with that said.......WE POOR MANG!!!

:P

Cuz in North America, Honda gives us the exact opposite of what we want. Dear Honda, we want a Fit with an armrest... NOPE. Dear Honda, we want dark housing headlights. NOPE.

yeah. just go for the base US ones if you want dark. The JDM front end conversion will be a pain in the ass.

Well, unless someone with a new Base model wants to trade, I doubt I want to spend $500 some dollars for base model Headlights.

Has anyone confirmed they do not fit? I don't need to do the whole frontend conversion, just the Headlights for now would be fine.

looking at these pictures, the US spec and JDM specs look exactly the same outer shape, do the mounting brackets not match or something?

they may look the same, but they are no where near the same.

They will not fit the USDM front end period, without an entire conversion.

Lawlz I guess you didn't read my post....

Again, they are totally different. Try to look for a thread on here that compared our fit with the jdm one. They did a side view and you can clearly see the jdm one is more angled downward. So that's a negative with our bumpers since ours goes out more.

It's not only the bumper that's different. The bumper, fender, hood and headlights are different. There's probably many other differences too.

^^ word.

If anything, just open them up and paint them.

I plan to paint mine with Testers transparent black. It should give my headlights a nice gunmetal like hue.

OP: Note the difference between the distances of the A-pillar and the top peak of the headlight. The USDM cars had the front extended to meet crash requirements (kind of ruins the line of the car). Very obvious when looking at profile.

We DO have armrests, though I never use mine. It gets in the way of the shifter.

That may be the case here, but I'm pretty sure 80%+ of actual fit owners out there care about the dark housing headlights...maybe the armrest.

thanks for the replies guys, dammit! this really throws a wrench in my plans, oh well, I might just settle for some LED tails (when I go to Japan) in that case.

i'm sure there are some base owner's out there who wouldn't mind trading. if you really want them, you could post a "for trade" thread in the marketplace.

Pick up some backup bulb sockets at the Honda dealer while you're there (and two more for me too; seriously, PM me if you're really going and willing to bring back two sockets for me. I'll pay for the part, your trouble, and shipping, of course).

I just tried to put the base JDM taillamp on my Sport and all was good except the USDM and JDM use different backup bulb sockets. Ours is smaller and just falls in the lamp.

Maybe the JDM LED lamp is ok in this respect? Don't know, but I liked the base lamp looks better.
