I sure hope it is better than the base model I git for my 08. Cheap, flimsy and yes the top arm pad does slide around regaerdless of what Zeta says. It does have a couple small "clips" but they are so insignificant they do NOT hold the top from sliding sideways if you elboy weighs more 10 ounces.

Thanks!

Zeta,

Can we also get a picture of the armrest installed, while the existing armrest is in the "up" position? It should help us better gauge the width, and overall look of having 2 armrests in the car. Looking at this again, I'm not too keen on the look of 2 armrests side-by-side like we see here.

If it works with a manual, thats great but that's not what this site says.
2009 Honda Fit - Accessory Detail - Official Honda Web site

Center Armrest
Add convenience and comfort to your Honda, with the armrest's multiple storage compartments and padded lid large enough to be used by both driver and passenger. It's completely adjustable to fit you perfectly, slides forward and backward for the best seating comfort. When not in use, the Center Armrest can be flipped up in vertical position out of the way. Not available if your vehicle has a manual transmission.

MSRP $240.00
The prices on this site are estimates only and do not include installations. Actual accessory prices are set by your Honda dealer.

Hm, wonder why honda would provide installation instructions for a manual transmission car if it doesn't fit. Wish someone with a manual transmission that has tried to install this would chime in.

the OEM does go on both Auto and Manual cars.
it's just they don't want to sell to manuals.
they are afraid you will have trouble shifting
into 2nd and 4th. your elbow will hit the arm rest every time
making it difficult to drive safe.
I say get it and drive with it up. Just my .02

It does fit, supposedly there were issues with possible interference while shifting, but I think its just being overly concerned about a "non-issue"

Definitely confusing but it sure looks like there is plenty of room to shift from the pics.

We are still working on a kit to remove the stock armerst. That way you will use just the Zeta armrst.

How does it install? And realistically how stable/sturdy is it? Thanks again.

It drops into the 2 cup holders for a snug fit. It also gets support from the passenger seat and driver folding armerst. It is pretty sturdy. The only movement comes from the slight side to side movement of the stock center console.

Ah gotcha, I would like to remove the stock folding armrest but ill just keep it on if its going to compromise stability by removing it. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to the final product.

Actually removing the stock armrest only adds a slight amount of side to side stability. On it's own, the Zeta armerst has as much stability as the console it is mounted to. Hope this is not too confusing.

How about a kit to add an armrest to the passenger side? I'd rather have my armrests be symmetrical.

Sorry! No plans to offer a passenger seat-mounted armrest.
